Some mates and I were discussing this over beers yesterday evening. We concluded that while the Yoga Pant phenomenon started out well... it has since jumped the shark. :disgust1:
yeah...if you're 200 pounds.....you aren't meant for them..

Since im not a big fan of the gym anymore i was thinking about doing a couple hours in the pool in stead.
Seems like a very good fulll body workout.
Anyone have experiance with that?
swam competitively for about 8 years, including 3 in high school, which was when i was in the best shape of my life. Then again, I was doing an hour workout in the morning before school, 3 hour workout after school, and 4 hours on saturday. derp.

but still a great exercise. make sure you keep good form and don't flop around like a flounder.

I have no idea where I am
Keep it up Dirt, you'll be squeezing into a new skin suit by summer.

Speaking of dropping tonnage, I tried on my full face helmet last night and the damn thing is too loose. So I measured mah noggin and it's a full inch smaller than it was a few years ago. I lost head fat ?

I also swam competitively for 8 years, and it was 3 hours a day... and I was in great shape. It is a great full body workout, especially when you do it with correct form. Even a half hour a night would do wonders though. Doing anything for 30 mins a day is better than nothing though.

I'm back riding 4 or 5 days a week, which won't last once it gets hot here unless I seriously leverage myself into a lighting system. I'm also running in the mornings per someone's suggestion on here. It really has made a difference. Next trick after Moab is buying a squat rack. I'm doing the Henry Rollins routine. Weight, and lots of it, lifted til you can't stand up.

God. I just measured my body fat and it's at 18%. I'm a really skinny person so for me it's fat. Thinking about the slow carb diet + heavy xc, pump track, kettle ball and running. Will see how it works.

btw. I'd do swimming if a pool was nearby. For anyone who thinks about swimming - you give more termal energy to water than air so swimming burns more calories than all the bs data tells you. It's a good way to loose some fat if you have a pool nearby.

If you do the slow carb diet, be sure to take in some carbs pre-exertion.. Fruit has worked for me.. If you don't, you will crash out hard.

Why is it every time I read the title of this thread I picture a fat Jesus? It really sucked when Jesus was a fat kid before he got all ripped. Although I don't think the picture of him on the cross would have been nearly as moving had he looked like Homer Simpson.

I notice my pants get snug around 220. I have been sub 225 (down from 296) since 8/10. I still need to ride moar.

I dropped 35 pounds on the slow carb, then started working hard in the weight room. Dropped another 8 lbs of fat, but have put 10 lbs of muscle on in the past 2 months. Have held steady at that weight within a few pounds while phasing out the diet. My focus in the gym on exercises that impact the larger muscle groups, with the exercises often times cycled together without rest.
I have been hitting olympic lifts hard mixed in with kettlebells. I have also been varying reps and sets with changes in weight to keep my body on its toes. Opening weekend at snowshoe is this weekend and I am anxious to see where I stand.
