Not as bad as you think when your actally using it as a trail bike instead of a min DH bike
I was just commenting on the lack of seat tube.

I didn't care for the Blur TR despite the awesome numbers. It still felt like an XC bike. 1# of carbon in the right place to make that thing stiff would transform it.
That, and I'm not in love with SC's sizing.
Agreed. That's why you should try out the carbon nomad. Don't know about the sizing though, I pretty much always feel best on a med and that's no different for SC.

Honestly though if you can afford it the 66 is the way to go. I'm so happy that Yeti finally made a trail bike that doesn't feel like a long travel XC bike.

DA BEARS.
I've been riding my TR since this spring and really like it. Def understand that'd you like it stiffer but i went to a set of AM enves with a 10mm RWS on the rear and it made the whole ride way stiffer

I rode the yellow Knolly Endorphin a couple weeks back on a epic all mountain trail here in SoCal, pedaled all the way to the top of Mt. Wilson and singletrack descent. I have to say that the Endorphin was the most neutral handling, 50/50 balanced bike I've ever ridden. It was very easy to get the bike to carve turns, drifted super neutral and balanced, and basically behaved like a bike wiht a lot more than 140mm travel. Besides the **** tires, this was pretty much the best handling bike I've ridden, i used the analogy that it kinda behaved like a shaped ski; stand on the pedals, hip into the turn and the bike does the rest while still being really easy to control edge to edge. Bike was 26.6 lbs in a Medium, I would really recommend a demo if you can.

There's nothing wrong with spitfires, you just need to pay attention to your pivots and use grease as needed. (a 5-10 min job every month if you ride often like me)

Just wait for the new one and you wont regret it ;)

Pictured here in "steep mode" during the first ride last year. back then it was 28.5 lbs, with a dropper now and some light tires its at 29ish currently. I run a zero stack headset now so i get the 66degreez with the vengeance at 160 in low mode.
Yeah Spitfire!! Slap it in slack mode with wide bars and 50mm stem and proceed to harm helpless berms. What's the 411 on the "new" spitty? Bearings instead of bushings?

I have no idea where I am
Re: Spitty:

This is the email I got right before I ordered mine :

Thanks for the email & for your interest in Banshee.

The Spitfire will remain unchanged for 2012.

There is potential that we will be releasing an updated version in 2013, but we are not even at prototype stage for that yet.

I'm sure you'll be pleased with the current model - they are great bikes.

Cheers

And yes it is the slayer of berms.

Like W4S said demo a Knolly if you can. I'm loving my Chilcotin. FWIW My first real bike was a SC Superlight. Then I upgraded to an 04 5 Spot. One of the best bikes I've owned to date. Next I downgraded to the TNT RFX. Even with a shortened AVY Chubie it was still lacking in the pedaling department. Next Came the original Knolly Endorphin. I felt like I was back on my 5 spot! It was great right up until it cracked.
That has been replaced by the Chilcotin. Pedals like the old Endo and 5 spot but rails the DH like my Highline. What was it that Ferris said "If you have the means I highly reccomend it" or some $hi+ like that

Winning combo right there haha. Nice bike! If you have no issues with the bushings then it really is an awesome bike. I have mine in the slack position, with a 160mm fork and external headset. It is super slack and still pedals up hills like a goat. When I point it down a hill, I really have no worries about it not being able to handle anything. It does everything.

Though mine weighs more than some people's downhill bike...
