Writing today. The good is that Pages is facilitating the process that Word was hindering, when it comes to organizing things. The bad is that everything is trying to flow out at once and my fingers can't move that fast. The ugly is that it is bringing up a ton of mixed emotions and it is hard to reconcile how I feel now with the ways I was feeling when I initially wrote certain notes.

The MAFFS base (Peterson AFB) is across the field from the hangar. Kind of surprised they haven't been up already given whats been going on in Ft. Collins. There were three of them sitting on the ramp when I left work yesterday. My old man used to work with them from the NPS/NIFC side and doing training after he retired.

Pesqueeb, its the stupid rules of engagement. All the available local Government and private contract air resources have to be used before the USFS can officially request the military MAFFS....efiing stupid, but thats how the law is written and the game is played

Christ on a crutch, this fire is just a little further east than the current fire is west:

ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. -
About 30 homes, or 100 people, have been evacuated in the town of Elbert due to a brush fire on Sunday afternoon. The fire is about 40 acres large west of Elbert off of CR 114.

Evacuees and their animals can shelter at the Elbert County Fair Grounds just north of Kiowa on Kiowa-Bennett Road.

I'm very paranoid right now and I kinda wish someone had any advice. The date I set for the finish of my analysis is unrealistic and I can't meet it but the company I am doing it for had virtually NO DATA on the topic and I have to copy it by hand from a free site. It takes ages to root out all the errors and categorize thousands of positions. I really hope all pans out ok.

Having worked with several vendors who have failed to meet deadlines there a couple things that would go a long way toward keeping us happier.

1. As early as possible tell them you're going to miss the deadline and explain it in a way that doesn't blame them.
2. Give them a new deadline and meet it.

The absolute worst thing to do, which unfortunately is what seems to be most common is to blame the client and then set deadline after deadline that you miss. We've ha some who have blamed us for every problem encountered, missed multiple deadlines they have selected and finished and finished in over twice the estimated time. That's just beyond infuriating and, of course, they will be getting no further work from us.
