So what's going on? Any monkey's down there yet snapping pics of the teams setting up, walking the course, getting up to shenanigans in the pits?!

I'm thinking for the men:

Gwin (who else?)
Minnaar
Hill
Hart
Hannah

wildcards are S Smith and Bulldog

for the ladies
Ragot
Atherton
Nicole
Hannah
Gatto (Canadian pride!)

I think Peaty is back (finished 71st at MSA with a crash), but I can't imagine he is at full strength with his busted hammy. Sucks too, as he clearly likes the course and would definitely be a podium threat (if not a threat to win) under normal circumstances.

EDIT - just read the Syndicate MSA report, and it sounds like Peaty maybe be closer to full pinner mode than I thought.

If I can wrap up my school crap, I will be there on Sunday with my young gun...cowbells in hand, spreading free love across this free land! :fans:

I'm heading down tonight so I can be shooting for first practice in the AM.

I'm not sure who is in my top-5 yet, but probably have to put the Notorious S.P.A.G. in there. He looked amazing at St Anne and was working like a beaver. I don't think anybody did more practice runs than him. Not that you can win at practicing though.

Isn't Windham a bit shorter than other tracks? That may give us chances for some non standard Gwin win results. I'm counting on some wild gun taking it.

Yes it is shorter, I wouldn't count on a non-Gwin win but it's definately possible since any mistake can kill you on a shorter track like this as the times should be closer together. I'm thinking of hitting the road 5 AM Sunday and getting out there for this.

A shorter, faster track means more precision, not less.
Yes but a few wide lines may make you more time than on a long track that requires you to not make mistakes through the whole of it to make it. As DH Dad said - the times will be closer so there are chances. I wouldn't say I believe Gwin won't win so your big badass USA banner is safe ;)

Not to sound like an a$$, but how hard is it to meet the pros and get a coupe autographs on Saturday? Ec

Opposite of hard.
If someone isn't busy doing something important it's their frigging job to get you stoked.
Many teams will have formal autograph sessions scheduled and posted at their pits.

That. Though don't tell them that and better do it earlier than later when riders get more tense.

With qualifiers on Friday that usually makes for Saturday to be a pretty casual day. Practice is from 9:30 to noon, most will not stick around too long after that. I am actually skipping Saturday this year.

Track is super super dry and dusty.Looks fun. To go fast though, both balls and precision will be required. They need to double stuff up and hit all their lines. The track is rough in a different way from St Anne. It's full of lots of chunky rocks just the right size for flatting tires and breaking chainguides. If you get off-line, you are probably going to break something.

I'm having internet challenges which seems to be a common theme here, so I only have a tiny gallery up right now. Hopefully, will have more up later. Let me ask this - is more better - do you guys want to see the Warrens, etc, or just the Minnaars and Gees?

Thanks for the shots!

As was already mentioned, lets see some more of the upcoming/ local USA riders. There will be no shortage of pictures for the top 10 ranked/ high profile riders

How about a local ripper with a bar hump? I was holding back my best shots for a magazine (which didn't want them), but they are up now too. It rained a bit last night, track should probably be better today. Thunder is gone, so I expect things will go as scheduled.

Driving out tomorrow morning, is there anywhere to park overnight? Do they kick you out of the lot that charges $10 for parking?
