Happy Friday! Busy work day today and a busy weekend planned as well. Wife is running a 5K tomorrow morning, then we head to Providence for the weekend so I can run a half marathon Sunday (half ironman RELAY). Good times.

We scored a nice haul for the week at the farmshare last night. Lots of nice leafy greens, carrots, cucumbers, squash, hot peppers, herbs, and snap peas. We'll be eating salad twice a day for the next week.

Morning. Coffee, Tour and a sleeping pair of girls = Happy Mamma Monkey

Supposed to ride tonight, but I'm waiting to see how my leg feels before I commit to anything. I might (gasp) dust off my road bike instead of a technical MTB Ride though :( Pain is almost gone from my leg but I know I still need to take it easy. I am surprised that my compression stocking seems to be helping (along with the heat and rest). I have a call in to my Dr. office and will listen to what they say.

The wife signs up for a farmshare thing, yesterday: tons of blueberries & raspberries..and a
bunch of other crap rabbits would like.

Morning Monkeys.

What a messed up work week. At least the office has been pretty quiet with most everyone gone.

A co-worker had been riding his Walmart "mountain bike" to work as a commuter until he saw my CX cruiser. So he went online and bought some random "high tech road racer" and rode it to work yesterday. Wow, he could have hurt himself riding that thing he tried to put together.

The frame/fork/wheels aren't bad, but it has some hilarious "thumb shifters" mounted to the stem that I almost got dialed in. I re-did the brakes, adjusted the seat (he didn't have an allen wrench, so the seat was hand tight), rewrapped the bar tape and most of the kinks are worked out. He was amazed at how much faster he got to work on it. I told him to rock it for a year and with the money he saved in gas, go to Santiam and they would hook him up with a real bike.

I can't recall the name, I will post it if I find it. The aero style frame looks good from 10 feet away. Just don't examine those welds. :panic:

Morning.

My last weekday off before heading back to work on Monday. Paternity time off was decent but now looking back I should have gotten more stuff done around the house. Will hopefully go for a ride tomorrow morning although the high temp tomorrow is supposed to be over 90 (it may be a short ride).

I might (gasp) dust off my road bike instead of a technical MTB Ride though
DON'T DO IT! DON'T TURN TO THE DARKSIDE! :p

Be glad....Sq-Earl didn't get paternity time, but he did take a few days off to chill with us.

It might be safer than a MTB ride with the blood clot in my leg. Decisions, decisions!

woohooo!!! finally got another fork for my DH bike yesterday after a 5 year hiatus from it. so stoked to be back on the DH horse again since i've been pretty much strictly BMX for the past 5 years now. funny how the bikes and the disciplines circulate in and out for me (and most of you) but the common denominator is fun on a bike, no matter the variables of the equation...

Played 9 holes early this morning with the parental units. Played like a typical mountain biker trying to play golf, except for the last hole. Par 4, 360ish yard course, managed to get the ball 4' from the pin on my second 140ish yard hit. Of course I fudged the birdie attempt and made par. Oh well. It's golf.

About to go lounge in my pool and drink beer until I meet up with a guy in town who wants to buy the last of my offroad Jeep parts. Craigslist can work wonders if you weed out the kooks.

Who doesn't like a good healthy poopin'?
Speaking of pooping... took Buffalo to the ER Sunday and Wed for Kidney Stones. Didn't realize the pain meds would stop him up, so I was playing nurse and filling him full of all sorts of laxatives.... we really shared some bonding moments ;) and he FINALLY got some relief last night. I cheered for every safety flush  Hoping his stone passes quickly so he can chillax for the rest of our "vacation." We're going to need a real one after this.

In other news. The bro and sis in law got over their flu, then Lucas and I had it, but now we're better. It stopped raining, and we were able to dry out the walls and floor and a lot of the roof after getting rained on through the tarps earlier this week. Hopefully finishing this afternoon with the shingles and such.

Stay healthy out there... our family has had enough sick this week for all of you!

xoxo
