what channels you guys been listening to? as of late ive been listening to "social distortion radio" latly but im always looking for new channels to try.

I make my own channels. I use it mostly for comedy tough as I think it such a bit for music as the variation start sucking after a while.

Pandora is sweet. It's like listening to the radio, if listening to the radio didn't fvcking suck.

I noticed that too, not that I mind.for some reason the Rancid channel plays mostly Johnny Cash songs.
For me its just made up stations......
for some reason Modest Mouse radio always starts playing dubstep within 2 or 3 songs....
Second black keys- plays lots of cool old blues, white stripes, etc.
I also like the Dwight Yoakam station plays George straight, Johnny cash, Waylon, Garth Brooks, etc.
Finally, Early Man is my favorite for some metal- plays lots of old slayer, pentagram, a little stoner rock thrown in there too...

checking out black keys radio now since i like the old blues type stuff when im at work. then im gonna probably check out some of the metal stuff mandown suggested either tonight or driving up to new york this weekend.
How to build a channel, for the noobs. (And some of our slower members)
• Create a channel using an song or artist you like. Pandora will try to find similar music.
• Click thumbs up for the real good stuff and thumbs down for the crap. Pandora will modify the channel and it will get better and better.
Thumbs up and down also works for stock channels.

i only get adds when i try to skip like 6 songs..... in fact ive been running it since 9 this am at work and its about 3 now and havent had a single add.
Pandora is not for those who want to skip around like an ADHD preteen. The ads come up often when you change stations or skip songs.

I like Groove Shark when I want to hear a specific song but have found that their radio algorithm (or whatever they use to guess your musical tastes) isn't quite as good as Pandora's.
yep. if you dont touch the app, you dont get many. for some reason, when i use my computer to stream, i get almost no ads.

My RJD2/DJ Krush/Mushroom Jazz channel has been kicking out some good instrumentals recently. Tribal Seeds/Rebelution is pretty good once I dialed it in.

Yep, especially if you have your system (I'm using a laptop) attached to a decent stereo system. It's kind of like listening to an mp3 encoded with a low bit-rate vs high. I don't think they throttle the quality based on your connection speed. Non-subscriber quality seemed the same to me on wifi vs 3g.

Yeah Pandora only allows like 5-6 skips per hour.
A lot of my friends and I use the free version on Spotify and like it a lot (plays an ad once in a while). One of my friends pays for the full version of Spotify, he loves it. He can listen to pretty much any artist he wants to on a computer AND his phone. It's nice to be able to just type in an artist and listen to whatever album you want to instead of a computer trying to predict what song you want to hear next.
I still do like Pandora a lot cause its free for the phone app.

are you using just a mini-stereo connector or a digital connection to your stereo?
i also havent noticed a audio difference b/w the wifi of 3G's. i thought about upgrading to skip as many times as i want but didnt realize there would be an audio improvement...i thought it was good as it as now.
I use a stereo 1/8 to RCA cable (ya know, fat red and white ends) out of the headphone jack to connect to the stereo. For you, I'd pay the $3.99 for a single month just to see if the improvement is worth it. You can always go back to regular w/o anyone calling you, begging you back, like the cable company.

I inspected a BMW dealership and the "radio" playing in the service bay was a laptop streaming Pandora into a rack amplification system that most DJs would envy having. The music was clear without being loud.
