Any Microsoft Office Guru's out there?

Replaced my Vista box with a Windows 7 laptop. I backed up everything on a external hard drive. After hooking the external drive up to the laptop I can view everything on the external drive except Office files. I have installed 2 different versions of Office and even Open Office hoping they would show up, but no luck. I can hook the external back up to the Vista box and see the Office files. Even tried a thumb drive. Can see the files once plugged into Vista but not Windows 7. Anybody have a answer?

When you say you can't see the files on your Win 7 box, do you mean that you can't see the files in Windows Explorer, or that you can't open them with Office?

Yeah I was just about to ask that.

Are you looking for the files in Windows Explorer or opening an Office product and trying to open them from there?

Sounds like a files permission thing more than an Office version thing...

Do any other apps have problems opening files?
