Powerful placebo. Boxxer Solo air dives, air shocks plow through mid-travel and are too progressive. The differences may have become really small but air can't become as linear even through damping. What you probably noticed are the new sliced bushings who make the fork feel plusher.

Also that bar indicates that you are a believer.

Oh no, someone spent more money on a bike than you're willing to, again!

Yeah don't let the Florida status fool you, Dave is one of the fastest guys around for sure. No non S-works frameset so aluminum will have to do for next year. The trail bike on the other hand...

Ive owned the idylle, then the rare and now the air. Tried the coil rare and the air rare back to back, with precisely the same settings.

Believe what you will, but it's plain as day riding it.

Bars...well I wanted to try them for myself , so sue me.

To be honest I don't really care what the bike build police think. I'm really curious about the new bos forks. My solo air is really pissing me off recently but I like the adjustability of it so bos air would be awesome.

@Supercow - any weird characteristics? Anything that wasn't there on the coil?

The forks didn't seem to do too badly for the new Woman's world champ :)

norbar, none at all, it was in fact a tad more sensitive to the very smallest of bumps. Not had too many square hits with it yet - I'll be able to post a mini review once Ive had some more time on them.

The only gripe was that uncharacteristically, BOS didn't put enough oil in the compression cart leg, resulting in a sound that can only be described as "stepping on a puppy's tail". Topped it up a bit and it's good as gold.

Too bad that BOS seems to have this weird new rules about service (having to send them in, etc.) to keep warranty. :(

that just sucks big time - same with the distributor of fox here. You can calculate lie 150-200€ on top of the price of a 40 just to keep your warranty.

That's the only problem with the forks/shocks. Even the instruction manuals are wrong. They have been told to change it but they refuse :p

Seriously? What's with French companies trying so hard to piss customers off?
It's in their blood I guess. Having to deal with French peeps workwise I have not much positive to say about them.
It seems they want to piss you off.
And I am not alone with this opinion.

The Dorado air spring is by far the nicest one on the market right now.

And I've ridden it back to back with a BOS fork. Not much comparison.

The only thing that worries me is that 2 friends got ones that were not perfectly straight and the got stuck after 2weeks of riding and then had to wait 6 months for new lowers.

BrazilianMonkey posted also in the Undead thread that he rides that thing not only in Gotham but also in Whistler too.

Great to hear that. But no brake jack? It's a link dirven single pivot, I think this is the credit of the shock. Btw., is the Undead plus CCDBair a great combination? Do you use the whole travel etc.?

YES, i dont know why but have less brake jack than my demo 2011 ex bike, and yes its a great combination to make everything light as possible but dont forget its air shock and never feel like a coil, and if i use whole travel i dont know, CCDBair never stop at the end of the shaft, they said its normal
