I used to camp at Thousand Acres campground when i visited Highland but it appears they are closed. wesite gone and phone disconnected is there another campground near by? Silver lake looked possible but sounds expensive. I know you can camp at the park but how does the fire, bathroom work at night?

They built bunk houses for the Ayr Academy to use but if I am correct the campers now stay at a local school. I would call and ask if you could stay in those. They have bathrooms and everything.
they are cool with camping in the lot, but bathrooms etc in the main building are all locked up until they open in the am...(some of us were going cross eyed by then..) - we kept fires low key - not sure on the official word there. Bugs were nasty and the frogs are fricking loud!!! lol...
