Kind of OT, but did Mik Hannah race all year on a torn ACL....?....thought it was mentioned that he damaged it early in the year...
Can anyone confirm? I'm riding without an ACL, major major respect to him if he can keep that kind of confidence and stay charging through the whole season with that kind of handicap.

I sure wish the HB cut the course site was back up and being updated. It was the best place on the internets that didn't have nudity.

Thought it was mentioned in one of the PMB videos. He was limping real bad when he was congratulating Tracey at the finish.

I heard Tracey at a race say that he got a scan and his ACL was missing pretty much from a crash quite a bit ago. I did the same thing a while back and rode without it for like 6 months (unknowingly) and honestly it wasn't that bad, one or two hairy moments when I crashed but it was fine. If he had the injury for a while his muscles would of learnt to cope without it. Still deserves some props for getting such a good season under his belt without it

It will be interesting to see who fills Leovs space next year. I think it will have to be someone fairly serious about training like Leov and not a party boy. I can't really see a successful team like Trek, messing with what's working. Sik Mik is pretty good friends with Gwin and could be a nice addition on the team.

Oh come on! He really does look like an elf and he really does sound like he's huffin helium! That has nothing to do with how fast he would drop me on anything resembling a real dh trail!

It would totally be worth it because I'd get to ask him about lines at the end of the ride and I'd get songs from the willy wonka orange crew stuck in my head. Good times!
I have no public/private response to these distortions/observations of rude/humourus nature. I am still very outraged/amused. If you want to discuss the matter further here, I would like you to stop/"pm" me.

If it makes you feel any better, it's my personal opinion that that kid will be making whatever gwinn's record is in five years, pale in comparison. He's like 8 and rides with a calmness rarely seen. And I hope I'm right because hearing the victory interviews are going to put me on my ass laughing.......assuming puberty doesn't have its evil evil ways with his vocal cords.
LoL - puberty IS a cruel mistress.

I think he definitely has a chance at it provided he doesn't take too many unnecessary risks. For example, Gwin decided to sit out the finals this year due to a tweaked wrist from practice. I have no idea how badly his wrist was injured but some guys would still feel the need to carry on and would most likely make things worse. He was smart not to push it. At PMB last year, Fairclough took a line that a lot of riders wanted to, but avoided due to the risk. He felt there was a second in it and did it anyway but wound up tweaking his knee. Sometimes they just push it too hard and eat it from going too fast - either pushing themselves beyond what they, the bike, or the laws of physics are capable of. I doubt you'll ever hear of a story where Peaty decided to take a line he deemed "sketch" to shave some time off his run. Corners - sure, but nothing that would put him at risk.

If Brosnan can learn to practice proper judgement and apply it to his racing, he should be able to avoid excessive injury and have a long fruitful career.

Surprise podium out of the gate at Ft. Bill by someone piloting a 650B.

Normal will return at the next round in Willingen

Is it just me, or does it seem like the potential for carnage causing weather at those two last rounds is huge?

Hows the weather in Austria in late September?

norways still pretty new :P
havent seen andora in a few years.
To be honest Norway doesn't really excite me. Nor does andora which looks like a regular track. I may be picky but I want manly dh courses that are wide, tech, fast and steep. That's why I'm bummed Maribor is not on the circut. Same for Schladming.

That would be awesome. For riding the old Valnord track seemed awesome but I expect more from world cups after seeing some tracks live.

To be honest I was really surprised there were so little flats on this course. It looked like a total tube/tire killer. I really hope it wasn't just a lucky year.

Such a terrible travel schedule next year, dear lord.
And everyone will still suck on those big ole UCI nuts.
Speaking of, as a pseudo, or real journalist, whats your take on UCI suing a journalist? Paul Kimmage, for saying the UCI protected Lance, hid sh1t, etc...MTB (gravity) has been getting jerked around for years, when is the day we speak in numbers?

Really? I've got a few nice pictures of Mignaar pushing his bike up in the rough rock section with a flat rear just to hit his line again (and DAMN he was smooth even with a flat..). Also noted a lot of guys running non-matching front and rear wheels during practice, and saw some pics of destroyed deemaxes. But yeah, there was only 2 or 3 punctures during the race I think?

Ole Paul had better have a good lawyer and some proof, or he is going to be in a world of hurt for defamation and slander, as well as on the hook for possible "damages" monetarily.
