That hood is down the street from me, and my understanding is that it has changed. I thought Rollins lived in West Hollywood, as I've seen him at the Trader Joes there. I believe Danzig still haunts the Silverlake area.

Where is MeuSheu's place? That must be on the list. Though, they didn't specify calculating home-office tattoo parlours in the linked survey.

They never include the Projects in those lists. I think that's because most Hipsters have Gay Dads.... And everyone knows there are no Gay Dads in the Projects.....

Portland, OR

Portland, Oregon’s Pearl District, which has been undergoing urban renewal since the 1990s, has a similar migration tale to tell. The neighborhood, currently hosting MTV’s latest edition of “The Real World,” is No. 5 on our list thanks to its intense caffeination (it has the second-highest concentration of coffee shops of any neighborhood on our list), a flourishing foodie culture that includes the Portland Farmers Market, and a colorful collection of art spaces. As gentrification progresses, some hipsters are fleeing the rising costs of new high-rise condos and warehouse-to-loft conversions for the less established (and less pricey) Mississippi Ave and the Alberta Arts District neighborhoods. (Probably the MTV reality show doesn’t help either.)

I'm not a hipster, but all of their metrics sound like things that I'd like to have in my neighborhood.

...walkability, local coffee shops, number and quality of food trucks, number and frequency of farmer’s markets, number of locally owned bars and restaurants, and percentage of people “in artistic occupations.

Ditto, and I enjoyed living in Capitol Hill. My Pearl District apartment was not the best, on the other hand--too loud neighbors.

Warsaw :/
I think its possible if the ratio of families with kids reach a certain level. Its not easy being a hipster and have kids.
That's not true. There are many hipster kid friendly bars and clubs opening around the city and Warsaw is pretty hipster backward. I doubt euro hipsters are behind Brooklyn hipsters.

Also I agree with bean.

Good bars, good coffee, good shopping and good food is a bad thing? I don't like the poseurs that come with hipsters but they do often bring some good stuff too. All the good and cheap bars and restaurants in the city here only exist because hipsters either own them or go to them often enough for them to make it even.
