The flat-pedal market is awash with fancy, wafer-thin models that'll cost you a mint...and then there are the decidedly blue-collar Kona Wah Wahs. Kona first issued these flats back in 2007 and what you see here is basically the original recipe.

The Wah Wahs are nice but the blocky outside edges can catch on rocks... I switched to Spank Spikes and prefer them over my old Wah Wahs.

Just ride faster and crush the rocks ;) Never had that problem with my Wah Wahs. I still haven't tried an expensive pedal that's more than marginally better than wah wahs

I managed to plow my Wah Wahs into rocks a few times in the 3 seasons or so I ran them ( I had 2 pairs, one for each bike), not their fault at all, but now 3 out of 4 pedals have bent spindles... and having the bike come to a complete stop in just a few inches isn't fun. The Spank Spikes are contoured on the outside edges to slide off rocks. I like riding the Spanks better but they aren't as durable on the outside bushing, a new set of bushings and hardware are only $20 and they made my Spanks feel good as new after a season of abuse. It's a small price to pay for the 12mm thickness. I think the Spanks are 1.5x the price of Wah Wahs so they are a little more $$$...

Aren't wah wahs 60$? I know you can have a new set of them taken of a bike for much less. Spanks hold their value way better so it's hard to find a deal on them

The price ($80) is under the pic in the review ;)

You can get Spanks for 10% off at Ubikes with a discount code, Wah Wahs are hard to find outside of dealers and are price controlled. If you can get oem takeoffs that's cool but not a regular deal.

Ran Wah Wah's on every flat pedal bike the last 3 years. Not one issue. Not one slip that wouldn't have happened on more expensive ones. love them. Will continue to buy them even from the completing shop to the one i work at now

A riding buddy had these on her bike a little over a year ago. They felt good when I hopped on her bike, so I got a set for my Demo. They felt so good that I got a second set for my Nomad. One year later, not one complaint. Still great pedals. Sure there are lighter pedals, but those others cost SO much more money. These Wah Wah pedals are mint!

Oh, and if you ride in wet/muddy areas, but a bit of grip tape right over the Kona logo and you're feet don't slip even the slightest.

I know but they are still easy to get, not to mention HT AN01SS are what? 50-60$? I got mine for 30$ but that was a steal.

Yeah all the sets I have heard of have ended up with bent axles and the shape is pretty oldschool with hard angles on the outer leading edge.
If DMR Vault's had decent axles I'd grab a set in a heartbeat.
