Can anybody tell me how to determine chainring compatibility on a Gamut guide if the current owner is a goon who doesn't know? I have a line on a cheap gamut but I don't know how to tell if it's 40t, 36t, or smaller. I have a 35t now and don't want to change.

ha, non-factory bashguard. He's running an e13 supercharger. Using my e-sleuthing, I count 8 teeth between two bolts, and it's a five bolt bash....which suggests it's a 40t, but it still seems bigger than that.
