I've broken 2 Ventana frames that were out of warranty. My experience is that they'll help you out, but you're gonna pay for it, and they're not real fast.

Anyone have any experience with Ventana support, especially after the initial 1-2yr warranty has expired?

Ventana is 2nd to none when it comes to customer support. The big difference is that they do everything in house. Even if they can't help you out on a warranty, they can help you out with a repair since they can do it themselves.
Call them and talk to them. I've always been impressed.

Ventana CS is second to none.

1 - I've broken a front triangle in the 2 yr period and it was replaced with no hassles (3 week turnaround).
2 - Broke an out of warranty swingarm which was replaced (at a discount) with the heavy duty model.
3 - Broke the same front triangle from #1 (out of warranty this time) which was replaced with a brand new next model up the product line (El-Salt to El-TerraMoto) at a substantial discount over new.

Give Theresa a call and see what they have to say...

Regards,
Marc

yeah, till they d!ck you and say that your 4-week old broken frame looks abused because that's the only way a headtube can snap off...
Sorry, but your 1 bad experience (with no context) does nothing to sway me from the mass of good experiences I've read/heard about. Never mind the fact that I'd have a good shop working with me too.

Are cannondale frames still made in the US? They have a lifetime warranty as well, just not crazy about the Jekyl, which is the niche I'm looking at.
They haven't been made in the US for years...2009 I think when Dorel bought them.

Keep in mind I'm not saying US vs. Taiwan has anything to do with quality....simply the sheer difference in production numbers and profits/margins, and how warranty claims effect that. It's a lot cheaper for Spec. to send you a new frame than Ventana or any other small, US company.
