I miss that old bike.

If he's still got fronts in there with swingarms that need to be made, that really makes me want to bump up to a size L with a little bit shorter swingarm. Hmmm...

Guide Help.

Building today. Finding that my Gamut Guide won't sit flush on the tabs and still have the boom clear the portion of the frame just ahead of the pivot. What guide are you all running. Wish that I didn't have to spend the dough but I can't even see that I could space it out enough to keep a good chainline, etc.
ANY advice appreciated. Thanks. Not seeing any Gamuts on any FB10s via google images.....

Get rid of it, and run a Straitline, or something with a flush backplate to it. Mine mounted up perfect, and performed perfect too.

Every Gamut that I've run I've shattered, and because the backplates on them are weak, if you EVER drop the chain and jam it between the ring and the backplate, it can start happening more frequently because the backplate can flex a lot easier. Just my experience with them. Might be cool for a trail bike or something, but not on a ground-scraping DH bike.

Hack....

So you ran Straitline?

Of course, one of the pluses with the FB10 was that it was ISCG and not '05. My guide from my last DH was ISCG old.... Great! $$$ saved! Or, so I thought. Going to try to get it to fit before diving into a new guide... UGH.....

Yup, I did on my old FB10.

Once you check out one of those in person and install one, everything else seems like a cheap piece of crap in comparison. Because it is.

So I've got 2 of these, and run 3 different chainguides between the 2 of them, all 3 have worked flawlessly. Those three are straitline (best because its the quietest). Old school MRP with 2 rollers, and an e13 SRS, the kind with the full bash, not that "taco" bullsh*t.

I had my black one stolen a few years ago. So, that's 2 of them floating around now. What a piss-off.

Edit: The frustrating thing about a boutique bike like that being jacked, especially one without decals like mine, is there's almost no way in hell to locate it again in any ads based on keywords. Maybe "downhill" or "freeride".

Aren't there like 100 of these frames total?

just troll craigslist in your town and it'll probably turn up in a few months. I found a stolen intense that way. Repainted and the link was flipped by the idiot thief. I think the owner got it back though.
