I know there are a couple of :monkey:s using it as it's come up before. We (and by we I mean my wife) have always used Quicken to keep our books and have been quite happy with it. However, our 2010 copy recently started throwing a flag whenever we open the program saying we have to upgrade by the end of April, else wise we we know longer be able to download bank data, online bill pay etc. As there is nothing wrong with the program this IMHO is nothing but a scam to force us to buy sh*t I don't really need.

So, users of Mint, how do you like it, what's it costing you (if anything), is it easy to use, is there anything you can't do with it that you would like to, etc. Looking for teh info.

I still dig it. Costs nothing. One of my accounts (bizarre off-brand credit card) isn't supported but everything else is. No real complaints from me.

I really like it. My biggest gripe is how it records credit card payments but it always seems to work itself out at the end of the month. Never used quicken so I can't compare.

Well, we have till April, so I think I'll try mint (or the wife can) and we'll run them both. If mint works, great we'll switch, if it doesn't I guess we suck it up and buy new Quicken.

I think Mint is great. It's got a very good tablet app, which is very pleasant to interact with - a lot of swiping and pushing and pulling; very intuitive. Also, I like being able to access things on any browser instead of needing a dedicated app for it.

I had one store credit card that didn't work for a little while but they fixed it, so now I have no complaints. Plus, the price is right.

I don't make use of a lot of the features. For instance, I don't set monthly budgets because I don't really need that kind of reminder... but for just keeping track of what I've spent, where, and in what categories - I love it.

I got the same warning thing. Our entire financial base is in quicken, so I'm kind of stuck using it. The only thing that looks to be positive, is that I can upgrade to the home and office version. I can use it for Wifey's business too.

I was never a fan of Mint when I used it. It's like quicken for beginners. If you do anything beyond the basics, it's not going to be sufficient. Also there's that whole putting your financial life into the cloud.

We've played with it a bit. I've found this to be the case for the hour or so we screwed with it. Teh wife is already complaining about some features she can't find but I'm not sure that it's not a learning curve issue at this point. I dunno, were going to try it out for the next month or two, if wifey isn't happy will just drop the 50 bucks for the new quicken. FYI, newegg is 20 bucks cheaper for a physical copy than buying it direct from intuit as a download at the moment.

What fancy things do y'all do that aren't implemented in mint?

So far, and it's possible this is just user error/unfamiliarity, but teh wife reports no calendar more than a month out and an inability to scheduled bills in the future. She is supposed to screw with it some more today after the kid goes to school.

Newegg has a cash back program through www.fatwallet.com. If you are going that route, sign up for fatwallet. Use my email as a referral, as I'll get a bit of $ for it.

I'm very fine w/ how I break things out regarding categories. I have not been able to create sufficient sub-categories in Mint. I am trying to setup a profile again to see if it's sufficient for my wants, but I can't find a few of my accts or my mtge which is annoying.

I use it. Was way into it for about a month but barely look at it anymore. My wife deals with the finances and I just use it as a dashboard to get a high-level view of the finances.
