I think what was funny about Will was the car he had "developed". I like people who thinks big but I also like reality.

Wrote the above before I saw the part where the Nobel breaks down :)

It's pretty funny that IH8Rice doesn't like the show when they have actual cars on it, only when they're running around acting like idiots and setting caravans on fire.
its funny you think that when i didnt say that at all.
theyve done plenty of other episodes based solely on thrashing supercars that were much, much better.
and since when do americans call campers caravans?

Now I'm confused, I thought sceptic's called Caravans 'Trailers' (hence Trailer Park trash) and Campers were RV's?

Gumpert, R8 GT, Koenigsegg
Gumpert is hyper-car territory like any Koenigsegg they would have on, and R8's have been done several times now (V8, V10, V10 spyder). McLaren, Aventador and Noble (ok so the Noble's been on before, but it's hardly well known) were perfect for this one imo

tow-behind trailers (caravans) are also called campers as are RV's (or motorhome.) "campers" is a generic term we use, but no one calls them caravans

id also say the Aventador is in the "hyper-car" category (if you want to split hairs.) .....700hp (@ 8250rpm ,) awd, fancy transmission, brand new V12, pushrod suspension.

hardly splitting hairs. The three cars they had on you could, in theory, use every day. Whereas the Gumpert and the Koenigsegg.... not so much
dont see why you couldnt. harry metcalf and lots of other people drive their pagani's all the time. in other shows Clarkson has said how driving around a Lambo is almost impossible because of how wide it is

"Trailer trash" comes from people that live in sometimes larger travel trailers and mobile homes. The upper end of the lower class live in what are called "double-wides", which are expanded versions of the typical mobile home.

(note: mobile homes are actually not very mobile. They are more of a cheap alternative to permanently built housing)

"Travel trailer" is a more common name in the US for what Brits call caravans. The bigger ones are more popular here.

"Camper" can mean a motorhome, but more often it means an RV that has been dropped onto the back of a large pickup truck.

I enjoyed the first two episodes of this season. :thumb:

(That's not a given: some episodes and specials, such as this latest Christmas one, have been subpar.)

not a bad episode. nice section on some of the two hottest cars. the Gran Turismo Stradale is so sick and its engine sounds nothing like a Ferrari

The obvious stage-i-ness of the "hijinx" is starting to get a bit tired. Still great to watch, but it's not an easy show to suspend disbelief on.

India episode was a massive, massive disappointment. Wasn't particularly about India at all. They got close with the hill-climb, but how could they ignore the fact that India has been its own vast isolated automotive Galapogos for so long?? There are so many old/wacky/cool vehicles that are found only in the country/region, most of which are copies of ancient vehicles from somewhere else. (Hindustan Ambassador, the Bajaj Chetak and other Vespa copies, the Royal Enfield, a million strains of autorickshaw 3-wheelers, etc.) It's like finding a gigantic part of the ocean where coelocanths and trilobites are found in vast numbers, but are now facing invasion by more modern, evolved species.

I still prefer the country specials (though the iraq one was crap) as well as cheap cars challenges and special races ala car vs other mean of transport. Though I also remember the maseratti episodes. It makes me sad to given the newer gen finally dialed the looks after years of looking like ladas and now they get ****ty gm engines. To be honest I don't understand how insane you have to be to get a beemer or a merc over a quatroporte.

BBCA will air episodes a week later btw.
The end of Jeremy's P45 bit was dumb but I liked the rest of the episode. The Hyuayaruyeiureuyiaeieara test was well done, and I'm usually pretty amused by them being deliberately stupid, like with the P45 test.

Saw it last night and thought it was great. Now that I have been watching a lot of Chris Harris I actually thought the Pagani bid was really weak. I want to see more bad ass driving and less fancy lights and editing.

The P45 went on a bit long, but otherwise I thought it was very good. The Pagani test track run!!! :eek::eek:
About that Pagani Hyuayaruyeiureuyiaeieara test run.....

Those tires are hand-cut Zonda R tyres and the evidence is really clear all around. Hammond definitely drove on the normal PZero road tyres also used in the press release photos, like any journalist. You can easily see it in the video Jalopnik posted at 7:36 when the camera does a fly-over. They later replaced the tyres for the Zonda R tyres, which had to be pre-cut by Pirelli with just one purpose “set a fast lap time”. There is simply no other reasonable stories behind it. I also had a go in the Huayra together with the test driver and when we drove it, it definitely had the PZero road tyres fitted. Similar to Hammond’s, and any other journalist reviewing it. Perhaps it was not so smart to swap tyres, because the major difference in lap time between the Ariel Atom V8 and the Huayra proved to be rather suspicious. All they have to do now is come up with a proper response, not one we easily shoot holes in.
Ooooops.
