Lets get it to the Nitro Circus crew and see Cam backflip it on the mega ramp every night haha. He could hit the vert ramp and just blast 40 feet to flat. Screw transitions. Actually, just build him a 40ft drop to flat out of scaffolding. Now we're talking. Make sure to do the signature Bender air wheelie all the way down.

Does anyone remember, or know where to find, the pic of Benders Karpiel back in the day that had two extra seats taped to the existing one, making for 3 total and acting like a moto seat? I got into mountain bike via early NWD vids, watching the first one someone around 4th grade. Been riding and borderline obsessing ever since and I'm now 24. I was more into Cedric's segment in the first one, and Robbie and Joe's. The glory days for sure. You certainly don't see unicycles in videos anymore haha but what about Bobby Roots 50mph manuals! That's gnarly by today's standards, even more so on an old confused dh bike back then.

.:585:.
Should we start a kickstarter campaign to buy it and pass it around between the monkeys? $50 buys in for a weekend of 18" tall BBs and 4" of sag.
If you brought that to Monkeyfest then I bet we could huck ourselves off of the deck to flat with no problem

^ the very first shot in that vid is my friend Bill.

I should try to find the pictures of riding Lynn with Wade Simmons back in '04/'05ish. Talk about making crap look smooth...

Edit: found some!.....memory overload.

This is funny...we're at the top of that drop I posted above, and Wade (who was on a RM Switch w/ a Z150 or similar) looked at my friend's Bullit w/ Monster T and said "Now THAT'S the fork you want for this thing!". My little flat-huckin', inner-Canadian heart melted.

that's why we drink it here
It sounds like there is a front wheel, a frame, and a fork floating around the community. I have some old wide rims and would be happy to do some building for a project bike. I have an old marzo direct mount stem and other spares which would help. CrabJoe, would your friends be down to clown?

oh man, that brings back some good shin-smashing memories! I actually had 2 Super 8's around 2003-2004. They were extremely fun bikes, and luckily offered quite a bit of forgiveness for the idiocy that ensued when getting into EXTREME STAIR AND LOADING DOCK HUCKZ!!! :D

DSC01667.JPGDSC01668.JPGright side.JPGass-side.JPG

As you can see, the name of the game was to plaster as many stickers onto the bike as possible, and obtaining a handlebar with ridiculous amounts of rise. what was I thinking

Apparently I was also ahead of the curve as I raced the black & white Super 8 numerous times. Naive as I was then, we can all look back and obviously know that no one could ever have success racing DH on such a hucktastic-oriented bike /sarcasm.

I could definitely ask. They haven't been touched in years so I don't see why not. Worst case I beat them up, hogtie them and take them.

ha - this thread is awesome. I was part of the revolution back then, about 18 years old barely had any money but somehow purchased a bullit, monster t, green doublewides, 3" tires, purple hayes brakes and some race face cranks...gotta dig up pics.

I still have the Monster T hanging on the wall in my garage.

You could probably sell the souper monster for a couple hundo, put on a regular monster or shiver, a normal shock, and reminisce about the days of stair gaps and superheroes.
I miss the good old dayz of hucking the stairs between Capen and Norton hall

nah, if that were Hudson, it would be in the Bronx, poaching trails in van cortlandt park with mounted police chasing him giving them the bird.

Vietnam trail bike.
Funny, the old Evil/e13 box truck was next to me in traffic today. Its an electricians or plumbers truck now, but the logos aqre still pretty clear even though they've been taken off.

You used to race DH, trail ride, and huck that thing. Would that be considered a trenduro bike nowadays? :p

49lbs of monster goodness....

Then I swapped out a few parts, and it dropped to 42lbs. That monster was a beast.

Funny how a 67deg head angle was considered normal, and something I wanted changed right away. Sold it, got a custom M-Pire that was a much, much faster bike.

On the scale with the correct amount of fluid, my 02 was just over 10lbs. 03's got heavier I believe.

That was back in 03. Now my Enduro has a slacker head angle.

back in the day i swapped my manitou carbon xvert for a monster t and loved the change. major weight gain but helped me enjoy riding without all the flex in the front end. the monster was pretty awesome in my book.
