Got my hands on a G2. Sorry for the dodgy pics, the silver forks make it hard to get photos of the black frame with phone. Bos suspension in the mail. Enjoy, I will.
Thanks for sharing/rubbing it in :)
Pedal it around a bit yet, first impressions?
Weight difference noticeable?
Suspension feel the same at the beginning, middle, end of the stroke?
Feel just as fast, faster, through the rough?
thanks!

Haven't given it a good thrash yet, and the shock was just bought to get it rolling, over sprung for me, and my G1 was a bit under sprung, so yeah it feels like less travel more poppy/responsive/nimble, but I couldn't claim due to new frame. Does feel slacker though surprisingly. Have smashed it through some rocks yet. Will be slapping a Bos air shock in it next, so again I'll not have a good level playing field to judge sorry.

Are those the fancy KMC 9 speed chains? or is that just a gold colored bmx chain?

Dont we have to run 8 speed?
Justin I am running 10spd SRAM's I would suggest 9spd maybe. I got a little nerdy and found lightish SRAM chains for not too much.

Question for G1 owners with Boxxers:

Flat or drop crown? I've seen pics on the cyberwebs of both. Does using an angleset have any bearing on what crown you'd use? OK, that's two questions. Hopefully not dumb ones.

Just curious...

Drop, you may not get enough stanchion below the bottom crown for full travel because of the headtube length. I had a small spacer between the drop crown and headset so the crown didn't touch the headtube.

would someone mind measuring that chainring spacer? 6mm sounds like a lot. I'm having trouble finding a chainring bolt long enough to work with 6mm worth of chainring spacers.

Old E13 ones are about. But there's light Ally ones on CRC etc. You may have to chop or file them shorter a touch. The spacer width isn't really a set thing. I recommend getting chainring(with chain on) as close as possible to frame on G1. This will give you the straightest line for the primary drive chain. Doesn't matter too much if there's still a decent gap to frame, just the closer the better.

Looking at designing a new Zerode-saint-specific chainring. Build the spacer and ring as one piece, and the extra thickness would allow me to tap it directly, eliminating the 4 female nuts at the same time. That's six parts into one.

Also, I've found that it's hard to get the stock setup perfectly centered, meaning that the primary chain has a tighter spot and a loose spot. The new ring would properly locate on the "shelf" of the crank spider to centralize it. I'll keep the monkeys posted.

I was at a Shimano Presentation last night and they were talking about Alfine DI2 electronic internal hub gear shifting - anyone out there thought about it/tried it?

Hey guys, Just got myself a 2011 G1 frame. Chucked all my part off my Sunday which was 39lbs, with the zerode frame it comes in at 46lbs minus TI spring.

Just wondering what you guys did to counter the chainstays increasing in length making the front very hard to get up. Obviously it has to happen but any way to make it feel more poppy on the front.

Also any ideas on whether a vivid air will fit the 2011 and has anyone tried one?

any weight losing tips?
