I am trying to get back into dh after many years away, I picked up a decent iron horse sunday and it has a 2007 boxxer world cup on it. Basically the boxxer feels like crap and none of the adjustments seem to work at all. I am not sure how far to go with this fork. Can anyone give me some good links on how to rebuild this fork? Should I just send it to push? Is it worth it to have avy do an upgrade with their new damper setup? OR should I just abandon this fork and get something newer?

Boxxers are very simply to rebuild. If you google 2007 RS boxxer service you should be able to find the guide fairly easily. Ive rebuilt mine a number of times and its done wonders for it. The Avy damper is another avenue you could explore if you want it to feel like a new fork but itll cost you. I ran the any for two years and I love every bit of it. All three of these options will work well with the sunday but I always felt my boxxer worked the best on it. If you have any questions or cant find the rebuild guide PM me and I will email you the PDF file.

Well, I suppose it all comes down to budget and where you want to go with getting back into DH riding...

For $140 the Push kit looks ok, as long as the rest of the internals are working. Otherwise you're looking at more parts and more $$$. The Avy cartridge is $430 and replaces everything inside. As long as the chassis is in working condition, you'll have an awesome feeling fork. Plus, correct me if I'm wrong, if you switch forks later on, the Avy cartridge can be put into the next fork. All you have to do is buy a new top cap from them.

Thats good to know that the avy kit may be able to go into a newer fork. I am not looking to go racing just weekend warrior stuff at sunday river etc... I just did not want to spend all kinds of money on a fork and when it was all done still end up buying a 2013 model. If the rebuild and updates still make it a viable fork by todays standards I may go that route.

Buy a rebuild kit, if it feels like poop after the rebuild buy a new motion control damper. If you want it to feel really nice buy the push upgrade.
