Based on a recommendation from posting this in the Lounge, I moved my post (although manually, so it's now in two places).

So I've narrowed it down between these two knee pads that I'll be using pretty much exclusively for downhill riding. Anyone have experience with them? Pros and cons?

The Poc VPD 2.0 DH pads are pretty similar to the VPD 2.0 pads but with a plastic cup, for some reason they are not on Poc's website with a description yet. Both pads look pretty awesome.

I've been running POC Bones armor for the last couple years. I really like them. They stay in place (very important when needed!), are comfortable and move with you (articulated knee cup). I have thoroughly tested them and remain uninjured. I have the soft pads as well for DJ and Ray's.
