I think it's safe to say Gracia is a better DH'er than Gruby in terms of the skills required to go fast on these types of courses. Not a knock at all on Graves, but this is a wet rooty DH track, and Gracia has quite a bit more experience at it and has still shown flahses of his old self time to time, and let's face it, a Cracia at the top of his game is probably one of the best bike handlers on the planet.
A.) It wasn't wet. It was damp in the morning but was well burned off by the time the pros went. PNW hero dirt.
B.) There are maybe 15-20 roots on the whole damn track.

Did you guys watch Berrecloth's helmet cam? the track didn't look rooty or wet or really anything except pedally. I'm sure the GoPro squashes things, but it's hardly Schladming.
You weren't at the track. It was anything but pedally OR flat. It was in fact, quite greasy in sections and tech in others with plenty of super tight corners. There's no sustained pedalling except for the start straight, but lots of tiny 3 pedal explosions.

If you can corner like a boss, you can do well in PA.

Why is it fuggin news that gwin lost? Again, unabashed gwin fanboy speaking, but expecting him to win at every single race is goddamn retarded. Especially when people like bryceland, mcdonald, and smith are there. I would not be surprised to see one of those names at the top of the list at a world cup that gwin was racing at.

Yeah from the helmet cams and pics that track looked like a freeway, a narrow freeway, but smooooooth.

Have we learned nothing about judging a track by helmet cam in the past 4 years since La Bresse? It bet even MBA know better.

Forum analysis of helmet cam < WC riders who say the track is rad (and who incidentally hate smooth, one line freeway tracks)

I have no idea what you're talking about. All those 'preview' helmet cam video clips that pop up during a race make me know I'm really getting a feel for exactly what it's like to ride the course.

Shlt I've not recognized helmet cam footage of trails I built.

A) I based it off of what Gwin said about roots and wet and the few photos I saw, but I understand now
B) How does this detract from the point of my post?
c) I added another letter so my point is better than yours.

Exactly.

Like I said, viewing helmet cam footage makes me think I can drop the 50 footer and send the 70 foot gap at rampage. Easy right?

Here is my guesses for upcoming world cup season.

Gwin remains man to beat, wins overall, but we will see more faces on top step.

Stevie wins one at least, finishes top 3 overall. Gee pushed out of top 3, and he is really mature and happy about it.

This will be the year that Samiam's finally give up the dream that Hill will return to dominant form.

Nice filming in that video really dynamic and great angles.

Also the 3.13 the guy jumping down the hill into another jump is brilliant.

Gracia is now and always will remain the Steeze McQueen of downhill racing. I could give a **** if he took 20th.
