There must be some best of dirt post to pull out. Wasn't it him who mailed out a big bag of crap for secret santa which caused a very sandy vagina? Since then I always looked forward to seeing his SS contribution.

Gawd, I hadn't even thought of that. Secret Santa will never be the same. IIRC all my personal "Best of DirtMcGirk" posts have been purged.

I didn't know him. and I found his love of guns puzzling. in fact I generally found him to be a puzzling human being. but somehow I feel a sense of loss knowing he's not around anymore. I feel for his friends and family. RIP.

I have no idea where I am
I'm still a little stunned that Dirt is gone. Never met the guy, but did trade some PM's a few years ago when I hit a rough patch at the beginning of my journey into the land of sobriety. I had hoped he would stay on the wagon with me. I will miss that fat bastard.

Hopefully, at some point, someone who knew him personally will post here and shed some light on what happened. Healing vibes to his friends and family.

I, too, always wanted to meet Dirt, and was looking forward to the N* Monkeyfest this summer. Now, he better be a damn good uncle, and like mammoths, 'cuz you know who was waiting for his large-ness to arrive and show him around.

RIP to one of RM's color................

OMG. Like most of you, I never met the man. His posts were often inflammatory (for the sake of it), and he had some interesting perspectives given his choice of professions, but damn, he made me laugh sometimes.

RIP
Godspeed, and all that.

I'm one of the few people on here who did know Ian I guess, hence my general silence regarding most of his rants and raves.

Can someone please send me a pm with an email address or a phone number. I genuinely want to know what happened to that nutjob.

edit: and no, there's not much you're going to tell me that could surprise me or be disrespectful

It'd be nice if the obituary was available in the funeral home link. I don't have any family contact info. By pure chance I just happen to know someone who knows someone who knows someone. I feel kind of weird being the one to post this seeing how I didn't know him, never met him in person, and barely interacted with him online.

That sucks, I never met him nor would ever get the chance to but when I read that he had passed it made me sad.

I'd say rest in peace but I'm not sure its his style so hopefully its rowdy wherever he ends up.

The irony of the thread is the lack of info on his passing when we all know Dirt would want us to know every graphic detail.

I can only hope whatever the circumstance, his passing was at the very least peaceful. Prayers go out to his loved ones.

damn, this is unexpected and unfortunate.

this quote seems an appropriate way to remember him by
I, like herpes, will resurface from time to time. Just been a crazy couple of weeks here in Dirt land.

Dog tried to die, ended up costing me many of the thousands of dollars. Been trying to ride, work, get to San Diego to surf, to Tahoe to board, and somewhere in there I've been trying to sleep again.

Who am I kidding. Dick got caught in a jacuzzi nozzle. Had to wait to starve my love cannon down to its original 5" before I could get it out again. Its been a week, my lower half looks like a cross between a prune, Estelle Getty and a Ken Doll, and I am deeply fiending for a Slim Jim.

Dirt called me a good egg he'll be chasing this basket of eggs lots longer someday he might catch up until then he is riding his bike to and from trails and sleeping with roaming goats. Ian is off the grid so fAr his Facebook erased like Microsoft paint. All he left was a flaming helipad in cow country.

I don't know why I keep thinking about this so much. He was definitely a big part of RM. Somehow I keep getting the feeling it's a joke, but apparently it's not. Sucks.
