Potentially dumb question...

Can you install Raceface turbine seatpost backwards?

My seat has short rails, and I'd like to get my seat further forward. The Turbine has 1/2" offset that I don't want...

Should I be publicly humiliated for even asking?

I'm in a different country than my bike, so I can't just go and try it. Besides, who's got time for that?

Buy a new seat post. A backward seat post on a pimp mobile like yours would make baby Jesus cry.

Yeah..yeah... I just want to hit the ground running when I get back from my work rotation... I left the country about 13 hours after I bought it. I had to pack in that time, get the house ready, etc... I really had NO time to fiddle with anything. I'm looking for some quick ghetto methods of achieving the effect of a shorter stem/reducing reach as soon as I get back into the country. The saddle is about as far forward as I can get it.

A dropper and shorter stem are definitely in my future...

How much do you think I'd get for my Turbine post?

The seat post should really only be used to dial in the relationship between your a$$ and the pedals. Change the stem to adjust the reach. How long of a stem is on there now?

Edit: SB66 has a relatively slack seat post angle. A straight post may kill two birds with one stone.

I've got a 60mm on there now. I'm thinking a post with no offset is likely going to help a lot, and a dropper will do that. I have an 50mm on my old trail bike with an insanely tight cockpit. I'm used to it, so the long Yeti feels weird being so stretched out, in a good way... But I think I'll likely need a short stem to go along with my no offset dropper post.

try it now?
I wish I could...I wish I could... This thread will just have to do...

I wouldn't. Kinda like using a wrench backwards - works for a while, will soon break under heavy load.
Seatpost angle and the offset seat platform would create a hell of a levering action in a bad way, judging by how it looks.
