I was hoping to get some opinions on frame sizing. I am 5' 11" and I am torn between a medium or large 2013 V10c.
I previously rode a Medium M9 and loved the sizing. Historically I have only owned Medium DH frames so I am a little weary going with a Large V10c. The Reach of the Medium V10c is what has me the most concerned; the TT is .4" longer than the M9 but the Reach is .4" shorter. Constructive input would be appreciated.

M9 - Medium geo:
23" TT, 16.25" Reach, 64* HT angle and 47" WB

V10c - Medium (10" mode) geo:
23.4" TT, 15.8" Reach, 65* HT angle and 46.2" WB

V10c - Large (10" mode) geo:
24.3" TT, 16.7" Reach, 65* HT angle and 47.1" WB

you're not weary, you're wary.

that said, buy a large.

The carbon V10 sizing was made with 3 sizes in mind. S, M, and L, and all 3 were spaced pretty equally apart. The L size was made to accomodate Peaty and Minnaar's size.

Long story short: Another size was squeezed between the M and L.... the L became XL, and the new L is a shorter step from M than the old L, now called XL was going to be. that clear? So the step between M, L and XL is all pretty close is what i'm saying.

I'm 5'10", and my equally sized and 5'11" coworkers are trying to convince me that the engineering V10 fleet this year should be built up as mostly larges. I'm going to give it a shot. can't make me slower...

I am 5'11'' and ride a large, I always thought it was really a bit of a medium+ (joeg's post confirms this) and I really like the size. The only other bike I have had that fitted this well was my small MSC F5 (the larges are huge and they only make 2 sizes) it was a flexy piece of **** that cracked in about 3 months but the size was nice. Apart from that I have owned 2 IH Sunday medium and a Banshee Legend medium, both of which were a bit too small, however the larges of both those bikes were too big.

I had large V10.2&3s that had a 1/2" longer top tube (the new XL is another 1/2" longer than that). When I got the large V10.4 with its 1/2" shorter TT I was able to weight the front tire better in turns and whip it around tight turns better. I didn't notice any lack of stability or "endo-proofness" so I'd say there were no tradeoffs to going shorter. I can say with certainty that the XL would feel too long for any kind of turning. I wouldn't recommend an XL unless you're 6'4" or taller. As for the 5'10"-11" set, it's gonna come down to preference. I haven't ridden a medium so I don't know how short it feels. The large will be more stable but you'll have to make a concerted effort to weight the front wheel in turns and in the air it will feel very much like a DH bike, rather than a park bike. When you're in between sizes take into account your proportions and preference for nimble vs stable.

I proof read work emails not RM posts, but thanks for the correction. I appreciate the sizing input!

I have a large 2013 V10c, am 6'2 and couldn't be happier. I will say that sitting on a teammates medium also felt very comfortable. I agree with the characterization that the large feels like a medium+ versus full on cadillac sizing.

I'm 5'7 and on a medium V10c. Fits quite good, but needed to lengthen my stem by 10mm. At 5'10 I would definetly go for a large.
