I put a DHF on my bike the day I purchased it and I have now noticed after 3-4months on and off use that the sidewalls are splitting. I haven't left it in the sun for stupid amounts of time and have never had it happen to much older tires.

Maybe the Aussie distributor has had stock that isn't selling as quickly as it previously did, not sure, has anyone else had it happen?

It sounds like you bought the soft 42s made for race days only. The super soft compound wears quickiy.

the tread might wear from use, not the sidewalls, and no cracking, just wear down and tear down; I have stored 40a (Slow Reezy) and 42a for more than a year with no degradation.

Indeed, I've run slow reezay's exclusively in summer (swamp things in winter) for many years and the rubber lasts an impressively long time, a year without degrading at least, but the wear certainly takes it's toll.
