Heres the scoop. I am trying to sell my M6. I have it on numerous sites on the web with the exact same listing.
It reeks of a SCAM, but i am not sure at all how it woud potentially work.

The first one started off asking some questions about the bike, then jumps into wanting the email associated with my Pay Pal address. They say they wil pay the entire price I am asking, and avoid simple rebuddle questions like, where do you ride, yadda yadda.

Anyway after a few emails I got a very similar email to this one (the Second one I recieved today from another website posting) Here is its.

was just about to make the payment when i had a little problem with my pick-up agent, as i explained to you earlier that i am currently out to sea, i tried to book a pick-up with my pick up agent, but they asked me to pay first before they can make the booking, they only accept western union money transfer for their payment's and i tried to send the money online but i could not, I'll like to know if i can be able to entrust the pick up agent fee in your possession so that i will include their fee in the payment that i am going to make, my pick up agent charged is $850 plus Insurance and some other document for the pick-up, so after you have received the payment you will help me send the $850 to my pick up agent through western union money transfer, this i would have done myself and not bother you but for the fact that i am currently on sea, i just wanted to seek your consent before going ahead with the payment, i will appreciate it if you mail me back, and i will made the payments shortly......awaiting your response soonest.

Regards.

IT has to be a SCAM, why would the guy trust me to pay the shipping on his bike? I just dont understand how the SCAM works. Is he trying to hack into my Pay Pal?

People are crazy.

Chris.

After reading the post, I have no idea what is going on. However, being "out to sea" smells like BS to me.

where the trails are
Let's see ... "out to sea, pick up agent" and strange grammar.
The fact that you're even doubting this as a scam is the really scary part. :D

Sounds like he's trying to get your bike AND $850 out of you.

edit: oh yea, tack 'western union' on that list.

right here -> .
it's a scam. even if it weren't, I'd walk away from it anyway. if a buyer can't get their $hit together then it isn't worth your time. you're just walking into a long drawn out headache. wait it out, your bike will sell. as a buddy of mine once told me, "there's an a$$ for every seat". good luck w/the sale.

I realize its a SCAM, Im more curious as to what is the point of the SCAM? How would he SCAM me? Hes offering to put more money for shipping onto the asking price.

The other email was very similar, buddy was from Malaysia but used a different shipping agent. Strange stuff.

It was also a bit of a warning. The thing I thought strange about it was, the emails came from interests from two different ads on 2 different sites.

Shady excuses, plus Western Union transaction request. Definitely a scam.

Remember kids, never do a WU transaction with a person you are not absolutely certain of being trustworthy.

That was me you dolt.

Now sell me your damn bike. "out to sea" is a euphamism for in the middle of a heroin binge.

Have some compassion.

I'll need your bank account number too. You can just post it in this thread.

Paypal are notoriously lax with people claiming they didnt recieve their goods and reversing the transaction, then you owe paypal the money and the scam artist has your bike. The $850 was maybe a confidence building thing.

He sends you a check for the asking price for your bike plus $850. You ship him the bike and send $850 to his agent. A week later the check does not clear and you have lost your bike and your $850 dollars.
In other words, Afaafa is taking you snipe hunting, and your job is to hold the bag.

he will pay you with paypal (or can) when he picks up the bike, you have no proof that YOU shipped it. he says- "i didnt get it" and reverses the paypal. you give paypal this story how he had it picked up and blah blah blah. they side with him every time. This is the most basic paypal scam. If you try to ship it yourself or say its free-he will back out. If there is any proof that you did your end, the scam usually wont work, which is why its all on his side.
