The guy almost got killed by an angry chicken.

I think a counter side to Gee's racing career is solidly in the 'stupid human tricks' category now.

He races cars. He races motorcycles. Now he's racin chickinz!!

Can't wait till he races some other bike riders for a change.
That was simultaneously the best and stupidest thing I've ever seen a mountain biker do. So rad. I am showing this to everybody I have ever met in my life.

NORCAL is the hizzle
Pretty sweet how Gee doesn't have his pack or any bait for some of the time he is supposedly "racing" the falcon. Jeez, if you're gonna get extra footage to work into the mix you could at least try to make it look like the same run.

Any information on the camera positions so far? Although everyone seems to be excited about the track, the only sections that got broadcasted in the livestreams recent years were lame pedally sections.

I'm mainly interested to see if Sam will roll over or make a statement. Also interested to see if Smith can start as he finished last year. The Gwin, Minnaar, Atherton debate is getting boring and although I expect one of those guys to win I wish they didn't..... I 'm praying for some kind of exciting weird outcome.
I'd *love* to see Sam back at the top of his game, but I'm not convinced it'll happen this year. He's turned up to two UK nationals this year and come 6th/5th & 15th/16th (seed/race).

Well Hill isn't exactly famous for his offseason race results, but time will tell.
I'll be chearing for Sam, because he was my idol from the beginning. And for Steve "moustache power" Smith and the Bulldog. Those dudes have now decent facial hair = 5% faster.

It's on :D

So excited at the moment!

Over your shoulder whispering
Hawk video should have been about 2 minutes max. My daughters loved the last 30 seconds of the bird hunting that bait down and snagging it in slow mo. Not quite as awesome as watching a Coopers Hawk snag a squirrel off the back porch and eat it in the yard, but tits all the same.

We talk about how serious injuries change a riders career all the time and they become a little less relevant. I wish we had a list of major injuries and corresponding results before and after them.

Fairclough's knee, GM's leg, Sam's shoulder, Kovarik's leg, Barel's anything, Blenki, etc. All these guys get crushed and have a drop off in their results, usually to the tune of several positions on the board.

If I remember right a certain Fabien Barel crushed the field in Maribor in his comeback race?
And Greg Minnaar, well, he is the most consistent racer out there for sure. On the other hand, the rest of the guys struggle a bit, that's for sure.
The problem is the add of more injuries. Hill smashed one shoulder and after that the other with the MX bike and was away a long time.
Barel was back in business with the win and vaporized his femur in the offseason and before his last race he added broken rips to his collection.

Minnaar had a hard time with his shoulder for one season. In his and Faircloughs case I'm thinking it would have been smarter to get surgery mid season and come back strong the next year.

Brannigan almost 84 kph, that's moto speeds on a push bike
That is insane how he is 10kph faster than anyone else. I imagine the wind plays a major role in your speed there. I never use strava or anything but I did hit 38.8(according to onboard computer) on pavement on a fully rigid mtb and that felt like i was in the twighlight zone. 50mph offroad must be pretty ****n wild

When every second counts to win on race day to take home with the win, downhill world cup teams will come up with some crazy idea's that they hoping it will work.TWR is taking things to a new level so they come up with this:

Introducing their newest secret weapon the Hot Box a device that will heat bikes up on the start line so that they will be 100% ready to go out of the gate

Donno if you heard, but Gwin doesn't ride for trek anymore

Also, both gwin and minnaar 8 seconds off? ****up? mech? crash? headgames? or did they just both drop off the pace a hell of a lot more then expected?

or maybe they're less concerned with trying to win quali?

Minnaar took a spill yesterday, so maybe he took that one section a bit more reserved? I dunno. Considering that you can earn points for qualifying, I would think they would put in a race run effort...or at least close to it.
