Just got back from a weekend of riding. They're really fixing it up nice. Trails are good with a wide variety of terrain. The only thing I would improve is selling cheaper/ better food in the beech tree grill.
It was my sons first time riding at a bike park and it worked out really well for him. He was able to start out on the easy trails and work his way up to the harder one's.
Thank you Beech mtn for opening a home park in the south!

Rode with Matt Purcell yesterday and did run after run after run after run. Pro course and AM course for the most part. Two guys he works with rode their 29er Enduro & 26" hardtail.

Cleared all the jumps. The new kickers on the first big berm and last big berm are built up and roll great now. The final step up hasn't bedded in yet so we stayed off it.

All the ramp faces have been cleaned up and it helped.

Saw tons of single crown rigs having a good time.

Few things to know
Lift tickets are inside the last building on right facing the lift with Magic Cycles. Food is served in the Beech Tree next to the lift. You can ride into the town of Beech ON YOUR BIKE at the midway point (paved road) then hop back on the beginner trail

We had a great time riding this past weekend. We brought our two boys up and a friend. They rode from 10 to 6 on Saturday and 10 til 2:30 on Sunday (we had a 6 hour drive home). We will definitely be back up as soon as we can. Great job Beech! It was worth every minute! I'll be posting pictures up soon.

That is good info right there.

My wife rented a place in Banner Elk this coming weekend, so I will be giving it a go. Saturday for sure, and Friday depending on logistics and weather.

I think the easiest access to get back to the slope is directly behind Fred's or the town hall. Also, if you want to chew your knobs off, you could just ride down the pavement from town to the top of the slalom, but that's a sketchy entrance.
Edit: To access the top of the slalom, find Skyway Rd or Snow Lake on google maps.

So you could take the paved road into town, down to your condo or the general store (maybe a local could chime in how best to get back over), then on down to Skyway Rd and get back on the lift from the slalom course. If you pass up the slalom and go to the resort entrance, you gotta go way back uphill to get back on the lift.

Also, mention was made of tying in an access to the top of the slalom from off the beginner trail in the future. That will be a neat addition if and when it happens.

Butch like you said take Skyway Rd ( across the street from 4 Seasons at Beech) but go past the top off the Slalom course by the big pond and go down to the end of the road. It leads out to the beginner course. We rented a house up there for the Nats the first year and road our bikes to and from the slopes.

I'm going to pose the question again since I decided to skip last weekend due to the weather...whose going this weekend? I'm 100% this time.

I am there Saturday for sure, and possibly Friday afternoon logistics and weather permitting. Green and Black Demo 8, bright green POC full face

I'm be up this weekend as well. 0110 I sent you a PM. I'm bringing the children (too young to ride yet), so I'll be up there whenever I can con my family into watching them. Probably Friday afternoon and definitely Sat (maybe Sun if I don't sleep in). I'm on a grey canfield jedi with orange links and wheels.

Awesome, I'll keep an eye out for you guys. I'll be there from open to close on Saturday 6/15. Will be riding my 2013 Canfield Jedi (black with red links and a Dorado).

If anyone is going to be riding Friday afternoon or Saturday, let me know. Friday is still in air, but Saturday for sure.

Since our factory floor is being repainted on the 5th (and production is off-line the 3-7th), our plant manager is sort of forcing us all to take PTO on the 5th. But I'll be at the beach.....

I work for a German company and we get MLK and Good Friday off :D

Back on topic, I plan to head out to Beech next weekend (22nd)

I've seen a handful of people on the slopes with nice cameras... Just curious if any of those albums are floating around on the net?

I think Drew Fuller (independent) and Mandy Loorham (Random Start Photography) have been up there the a mix of the past two weekends.

Beech Mountain is sick! Go ride there this weekend! I saw features popping up left and right, there must be some trail gnomes living in the land of Oz...or parking lot 3.

Here are a few pics from yesterday...

If anyone knows the guy riding with his son (tiny blue and white demo) tell him I have a good video of his son coming down the am course. I can email it if he wants it..

Beech on Saturday was honestly one of the most fun riding days I have ever had. Awesome trails, perfect conditions and a great atmosphere with a ton of riders there. I could not believe how fast and fun the pro track was riding. In some ways, it is easier to ride fast than the am track. I encourage everybody around to support this bike park. We finally have a sick place to ride that we can get to for a day trip and ride ourselves silly with a fast lift. Can't wait to get back out there.

Dude, from the lift, you looked like one of those guys doing Luge the way you slid on your back and slammed your body in that berm. Ha, we could get down there quick enough to check on you. Glad it turned out fine.
