Does anyone have any input/preference on the shimano I-spec mount vs the standard bar mount?

About to order a Saint shifter and trying to decide which to get.

Thanks!

Shimano one isn't that good, fixed position, no possibility to change the angld comparted to the brake lever
Fixed angle, but adjustable side to side. My experience with Saint and XTR is that it positions the trigger at an appropriate angle.

It's a pity that shimano-components are so good and way cheaper than sram over here. Because if you have a reverb you can have brakes, shifters all clamped to that and this doesn't work with shimano.

Yes get them. Unless you are super picky about shifter placement or need the gear display. No they are not as easy as SRAM's matchmaker thingy. But then again you are getting a better shifter IMO.

Also, if you go with Shimano, get the KS Lev adjustable seatpost. Way better lever design as its much smaller and fits anywhere on your handlebar. The reverb lever is giant in comparison and doesn't play nicely with Shimano's shifter/levers.

That's good it's at least adjustable side to side. I went ahead and ordered the I-spec shifter so I'll see how it is when it arrives. I've actually never used any SRAM components so I can't compare the two but I think I'll be happy with Saint.

Absolute worst case, I'll need to buy another shifter.

Good to know about the KS dropper post too. For now I won't be running one, at least on the DH bike, but maybe on my Trek Fuel in the near future

Actually I belive problem solvers came out with a product where you can combine shimano products and Sram products into a single clamp........scandeless I know :D

It puts the shifter exactly where I had it anyway. Super clean bars and I don't run a dropper on my dh bike so am not worrying about that. If my lever spins in a crash I can whip it back easily.

Super happy with my xt brake/shifter and zee mech combo for affordable/light/strong/budget downhill group set.
