You have got to be ****ing kidding me... :banghead:

7 rides in on my 2013 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Carbon EVO Expert I notice this:

I honestly did not notice any hard impacts or anything. I have actually only been riding this bike on mellow trails. Mostly climbs. I don't get it. Frame = toast.

Just in case you don't remember, I did this one on New Years - Tomac Vanish:

And then there is the rest of my bike history over the last almost 10 years of riding... I have ruined 5 of the 9 bikes I have owned (not including road bikes).

-Santa Cruz Heckler: ovalized head tube
-SWD Crazy 8: bent frame
-Tomac Snyper: cracked frame
-Tomac Vanish: cracked frame
-Specialized Stumpjumper EVO carbon: broken frame

Survivors:
-Tomac Cartel hardtail
-Tomac Primer
-Santa Cruz VP Free
-Santa Cruz Chameleon

Do you guys think this could be covered under warranty? How do you suggest I try and get a replacement? I cannot afford to buy a new bike. It already took me 6 months just to replace my old broken frame. =\

Go back to where you purchased it....

If its really that new, then you shouldn't have a problem. Maybe there was an air pocket or some magic sparkle dust in there that made it go kaput.

Purchased it from a specialized employee. It was used for 3 months before I destroyed it. Already asked him and he let me know it might be tricky to replace because it looks like an impact.

I'm up to 5 (i think) high-end, broken frames....aluminum and carbon fiber.

Bikes suck.

FWIW....a couple months ago I punched a hole through the top tube of my FTM Carbon on a bailed rock roller (totally my fault). Titus had a new front triangle to me in 3-4 days. I was impressed

Man, that sucks.
Having said that, Specialized has a pretty fantastic warranty policy in "most" situations.

I'd argue that the frame should be able to take even a significant impact, especially in that prone area. If their carbon can't take normal use they should recognize it.

Fingers crossed. Good luck.

You can repair carbon. I've just side wacked my Carbine and gonna cost me $300 to get it rolling again. better than the 2k "crash replacement" from Intense....

Didn't your current bike come from a shifty warranty replacement??
Cracked headtube on a 6 year old DH bike that was a factory bike - Houseman's bike. I rode it 3 times before I found the crack, so I'm not claiming that one. Although you did remind me of the 575, but they gave me a new frame without any issues.

Broken frame is a broken frame.

I have only broken one frame, and that was a road bike at the BB...I feel like a total wussy boy compared to some of you animals...
Buy a Monster T, it's a great tool when trying to crack a frame thus making you feel 73% less wussy. Mine has claimed 2 of my bikes, and many more before I got the fork. I killed my Stinky and Stinky 9. Before that it killed a 24 Le Toy, 2 Foes DHS Monos, another Stinky 9, and a couple Turners. It's a stupid fork.

On the cracked Special-ed, they're actually surprisingly good about warranties. A guy at work got them to replace his carbon cranks that he bought used on ebay for $50 since he couldn't prove he was the original owner.

I probably would break that too.

Still haven't made any decision on what I am going to do yet. Still waiting to hear from the guy I bought it from to see if he can get it exchanged for me. Looks like repair and paint would run me $500 from a reputable carbon repair company (local).

Regardless of what direction I go, I think I am going to get an aluminum frame.

given your luck with frames maybe you should look into 1552 tarmacs for your car....
