We're planning on hold super D races again next year but would also like to expand the series to incorporate other venues. We have a resource that can help with sponsorship so it would be more than medals for prizes. Participation at the last race was low but hoping that was due to the weather. What's your thoughts on a series like this? And other trail recommendations that you'd think would be interested?

Uhwarrie National Forest. I can think of one run in particular that is 2 miles and descends 248' It is a mix of flowy machine cut trail and NC single track. There is even a tricky rock garden in an alternative line.

See from mile 11.25 to 13.25. Uwharrie is also great during the winter as it drains really well and since its east doesnt get bitterly cold.

You could do one in conjuction with the White Water Center race of the Southern Series? I always thought it would be fun to race from the bottom of goat hill up the fire road, and then down the old DH course. Would probably be a 2+ min race.

Maybe rocky knob or moore's springs trails. Both would have useable routes and have nice proximity to wilkes for a series. Plus I think they would give you permits. UNF is a good option as well, like Rob said. What about Pandapas pond in Blacksburg, VA? They have had collegiate super D's there, they have plenty of vert and some fairly rough trails.

Everyone is going to tell you Pisgah and Dupont since they have the best trails for this type of thing, but I don't think the forest service is too into timed races like that in Pisgah, and I know it would never happen in Dupont.

I do not understand Matt B's love affair with you. That does not sound fun at all to the fat kids.

Couple of washed up out of shape olds ... Sad.
Actually sounds like a race I could win or die trying.
My 2 cents ... Poston déjà vu 1 and 2 dhs. Even has some gap jumps for me to crash on.

Given the number of times you have won a race vs. coming close to dying, this statement worries me. Just make sure it is a USAC event and you check the box for the insurance.

Great idea on Pandapas, old farm trail would be super fun! And rocky knob is great too.

How about Matthews State Forest outside of Galax, VA? Never hear of anything up there, has some steep/fun/pedally stuff. Or Fisher River in Dobson or San-Lee in Sanford? Both may be too flat, though

I have no idea where I am
I second Moore's Spring Trail (MST) for a Thsuper-D. The place has some straight up Pisgah style terrain with lots of absurdly fast berms. They are currently building a short DH run and have already been having XC races out there. And there is even a camp ground across the road aways.

It's only 35 min from downtown Winston.

Thanks for all the feedback! If you have any contact info for who handles these trails please post or send me a PM.

I was thinking 5-6 races to start with to see how participation is. Definitely heard nothing but good things about Moore's Spring and always liked the White Water Center mini DH course and Rocky Knob is a blast! I haven't heard anything about Galax but would be nice to pull in to make a multi-state series.

I would be at all the BMCC Super D races, but unfortunately I have to work most Saturdays. It’s hard for me to take off enough Saturdays to get to Beech/Snowshoe races and all the Super Ds. Maybe keep that in mind for the series…….unless everyone else prefers Saturdays. In that case please ignore :thumb:

I think I could come up with about a 3min descent track in Danville, VA at the ANGLERS RIDGE TRAILS. I like the idea of ROCKY KNOB TOO!

The TTC Gravity Park is COVERED in a bunch of jeep trails, we could make a course as hard or as easy as ya wanted to! Great little resort too. Bathroom facilities, cabins for overnight w/heating and air, podium for awards, pavilion, camping, rv spots and shuttle road to the top of the 1000ft vertical that we have access to!! We already have 7 DH trails, 4 of which are only accessible by 4x4, but tons of double track that can be changed according to how we need to. I mean shoot, we could have two classes!! We have already held more than a couple DH races, and the resort is capable of holding 10,000 people for the World Trials Championships. The National AMA TKO (Tennessee Knockout) is the next big race coming up, and it is a national endurocross!! Its a big venue with big potential!! trialstrainingcenter.com
