Not the first sign of thunder and lightening, we need strikes within a certain distance. We will always try and reopen the lifts if its not too late in the day as soon as possible, and the fitz is always a priority. Strikes within the 20/30k range mean the lifts are in serious danger of getting hit, and the publics safety is top priority.
I've got my fingers crossed for no lightening, as I'm as bored with lightening procedures as you guys getting stuck at the bottom! On the plus side though the rain hash any the trail crew boys can actually fix stuff up rather than just working with dust. Flow trails are riding amazing, and roots are getting slippy again! Had some awesome evening laps today.

Lance and I are heading up tomorrow for a day trip. Stoked to some precip today as it's been pretty freaking dry out here!!!
I'm going for it too. I'll be wearing mostly black and riding a candy red DW link DHR, if you see me say hi.
I wanted to give you guys am update today, but was super busy. The lightning came in and stayed just behind sprout. It was a pretty angry storm.
Fingers crossed for it to pass overnight. There was no lightning activity from around 10pm last night until midday so I thought we were going toget away with it. The joys of a coastal mountain range in summer!

Ugh. Only got 3 runs today. One lower. One Garbo to village One top of the wold to village. Then skunked in line 2x for lightning. Over priced beer and people watching were excellent today

Haha, I "rode" part of it one evening from the Lost Lake end - - more like hike-a-biked it. Want to do it all next time I go from the 'right' (north) end. Still fun and stunning views nonetheless.I don't think it's CN. I heard that trail is uphill both ways.
That would be '04. I rode them 1st in '03 at the end of the season via the gondola, but the actual terrain opened in summer 04
I was up there from thursday to sunday. great weather, really dug the night rains and the tacky dirt that was the result. also can anyone say yoga pants?? 
I gotta find the inventor of those things and buy them several beers. yoga convention and BBQ championship in the same weekend at whistler = Win.
the freshly buffed berms on lower blue velvet kicked ass. rollercoasters come to mind. that left handed fadeaway hip at the end is just icing on the cake. can you say tabletops? also nice that they threw some plywood on that flatbottom on dirtmerchant where there was a major mud pit before the tabletop into the right hander.

Half the world has come up...
Long weekend/last weekend of school holidays/bad weather the past few weeks has all resulted in a lot of people on the hill!
The good news is the lifts are all running now, so Garbo can take some of the strain off the VG and reduce line ups. Also heard rumours that the top of the world trail is free this weekend, though I can't 100% confirm/deny that.

Yeah, they had damage to Garbo lift, so it was closed. But they were offering free TOTW passes in lieu... The Gondola was open though, so, win.

Garbo is running again, hero dirt everywhere today and the crowds seemed far better than yesterdays sh1tshow.
