Are all M9 frames like this? Its honestly one of the best looking frames ever made, but I cant imagine myself dealing with issues like these on a regular basis. Ive ridden one M9 for a super limited amt. of time and it was indeed, very creaky.

Not all it seems, but quite a few from the sounds of it.

most people ive talked to have had a creaking issue at the flip chip and most, if not all, have been resolved by anti-seize or teflon tape. the problem is where the chips are located in relation to the tire. on a muddy day, grit can get into there but since i have mine covered in anti-seize, they dont make a peep, even after a muddy day. i hate a noisy bike and was glad that there was a simple fix. i havent heard of creaks coming from anywhere else (if they maintain their bike of course)

my next choice for a frame will be flip chip free. b/w the M9 and the Revolt, ive had issues with both

Thanks. For that limited time I rode one it felt pretty different compared to my V10. Thing is planted. Jumps werent a problem either.
Will a carbon version be coming soon or will we see a totally different bike? :D

I fabricated a cover for the shock area to keep the mud out, but you think for the price of the frame that Intense could include a built in guard to keep out the dirt, ala the Devinci Wilson. Even keeping it semi-clean wasn't a great solution, but its a start.

I must not ride mine hard at all then. Initially mine creaked like f-ing crazy. I had the guys at Fanatik Bike Co in upstate WA replace the old link with the new one and with new flip chips: No creaking. I have a thin layer of Teflon tape that I haven't had to replace very often. So far it's super silent except for the occasional creaking from the angleset.

My Saint rotors creak though.

Not sure. I wonder if they'll only pursue more with the 951 evo chassis?

Another solution is to not care. Mine creaks a little bit, but rather than chase that down I just ride it.

Heat gun and a sacrificial plastic fender.

Other potential sources of creaks - dropouts fasteners (I grease them).

Just installed the new lower box link today and anti-seized the flip chips... I did notice much tighter tolerances between the new box link and the flip chips than on my old box link.. hoping this solves the creaking issues.

I'm sure that this has already been said a hundred times in here, but:

I'd be worried about an M9 that didn't creak.

First day on the new box link and its creaking again.. it was a muddy day in the bike park and cleaning, reapplying anti-seize doesn't solve it? Funny thing is if I back of the shock bolt a bit and compress the suspension the creak stops... put some anti-seize on the bolt and retighten to normal torque and creak returns... very confusing. I also cleaned all the shock hardware to take that out of the equation.
