Brook, Sam Hill, and Gwin are going to be starting/dropping-in VERY early on.

Tactics, perhaps?

shame ^^ :( schurter looked more stylish doubling up stuff during the XC

World champs always brings out the timetrialist ****. don't worry, it will be over soon.

My money is on Gee to win the time trial, Smith a close second and Mick or Minnaar in 3rd.
Hill will win the proper competition with Brook and Danny close behind.
Remy will win the best trick comp

Massive lol at the suggestion of a USA clean sweep!

On nothing but the DirtTV practice vid I reckon Sam has it. That 29er also looks **** and the 2 second shot of Gwin riding stiff proves to me the Demo is still not working for him and he'll be lucky to get a top 10.

Stoked to hear about Tahnee getting the win, the footage I've seen of her looks awesome, think she'll end up being one the most stylish/fastest women we've seen.

nah, it's nothing to do with too short/long/many chainstays or the freebro herritage of the Demo. Don't forget, Gwin learned his trade in Moto, When he koined Spesh, Jaky was dumb enough to tell Gwin about that other lever on the bars and now when he reaches a scary bit of track he skids his way down it like a 43yr old mincer instead of dropping his heel and going faster than anyone else.

I remember Tahnee in a video from a few years back at Champery almost clearing this massive jump, crashing, then pushing up for another go. I was impressed that she even attempted it in the first place. In a few years i can see her dominating if she can stay injury free.

Anybody else watching the dirt video feel like steve smith has that same body language gwin and hill do when they're on top? where he doesn't move back and forth on the bike, his upper body doesn't move and he looks like he could be sitting in place?

Without looking at the timed training, I'm still putting him on the win come racing.

But I'm still rooting for Minnaar, Gwin, Peat, in that order.

so am I the only one that feels like this is anybodies game with no clear "top guys" unlike most years? I'm thinking smith is probably most likely, but I don't think Minnaar, gwin, gee, or hill are gonna slouch, and I am VERY excited to see mitch come down, I'm hoping to see him in the hot seat for the majority of the race. Is redbull still doing the same "top 30 only" thing? cause it'd be a real bummer to miss the guy who might just put in the winning run because his number plate wasn't low enough.

Redbull have almost three hours allocated for the feed, hopefully this means they'll be showing the whole lot, hopefully.

One thing the PMB track does provide is close racing, should be an absolute cracker. My top five in no particular order: Gee, Smith, Minnaar, Sik Mick, Hill.

Doesn't RB upload the video after the race? They probably film everyone, then only put the standouts and famous folks in the actual video.

maybe he should petition the UCI, those 29er bikes look way worse than lycra or peakless helmets ever did.

(if only he could just get his whiney little sister to complain, the UCI seem more than happy to change their rules to suit her ;))

I bet that a skinsuit and peakless helmet would gain you more time on this track than a 29er ever could.

Gutted for Manon. Still, better to lose by crashing out than to lose by not trying hard enough I guess!

I like it when you euros say "gutted"

It's so graphically violent and has so little to do with actual disappointment. One of the better phrases you brits use.

Any, great job to Rachel, as much as I'm always rooting for Tracy Hannah, Atherton deserves it, she's been working her ass off for years and sh1t just keeps happening to her for champs, glad she was able to put another one together and got another win.

Just heard Nigel & Warner say Gwin has "swapped to 650b wheels at some point this week". Anybody else hear this too?

Disembowelment would be a little disappointing to be fair.
