So let's kick this off... after the performances of last weekend, I'm thinking the top 5 will be:

Smith
Gee
Hannah
Minnaar
Blenki

Rachel
Ragot
Manon
Tracy
Pompom

With Smith and Rach taking the overall...

I would only agree with Hannah and Gee in top 5 if it stays dry, if wet again I don't think either has shown great confidence riding in slop. Even going back to that Worlds when Hart crushed it Gee had trouble simply staying on the bike and Hannah was dismal as well. Little drizzle to make it tacky is one thing but super slick I put Stevie and Hart on top.

Take in the pressure that is on Geeman.

Leogang will be a mindgame for sure with Smith in the better position. He has nothing to loose really. Best season for him so far. Confident like crazy with tons of fun while riding.

Gee on the other hand wants to get it done after all this years.

Pretty psyched for Smith to be in the running for an overall. It's been fun watching him come up through the ranks. I wonder if Blenkinsop is going to put everything together and start winning? The power he appeared to be putting down at yesterday's race was unreal!

This is going to be moar than a little epic! Here's hoping for a clean race, I want to see it coming down to the line and the winner (whoever that is, don't really care, both have been phenomenal) basically smashing it, no weather, no crashes just rider skill!

Pressure is going to be huge. Gee has proved in the past he can cope with a bit of pressure and maybe even benefit from it, can Stevie? Not sure I'd agree with him being in the better position, maybe peg it as equal. Both look strong and well up for it. Loving it but also equally bummed its over already.

Rach is pretty well ahead, but Emeline and Manon are both still in the game. Rachel would just about have to DNF to lose this one.

Re: Rachel I think I read that if she finishes in the top 6 then nothing else matters. Not a foregone conclusion, given what happened at MSA, but she would pretty much just need a clean run and it would be in the bag.

As for who is in a better spot between Gee and Stevie, I'd go with Stevie. Not discounting Gee's talent or his ability to deal with pressure, but at that level it seems like so much of it has to do with momentum and where you are mentally. In this regard, there is no question that Stevie should be at his most confident having stuck it to Gee the last 2 races including once when he was at significant disadvantage due to conditions. I still think it's a coin toss who wins, but I'd rather be in Stevie's shoes than Gee's.

Regardless, it has been yet another phenomenal season of racing. I for one will be pulling for Smith as I think he is the next Steve Peat in terms of blending talent with undeniable charisma and likability (must be something about Steve's). Anyone else catch that he already has a Junior protoge, Mark Wallace--who finished 3rd at Hafjell. Such a class act, great guy, incredible rider with hopefully a very long career in front of him.

Hasn't Gee tried something like this before when he finished with a win in Windham? The could be a good mental advantage. Steve on the other hand sure comes into this with a lot of confidence.

iirc 2010 season Minnaar was slightly ahead going into Windham. But anyway, this race, conditions will have the final say who wins imo. I want to see Smith take the overall, but with Hill winning the final race :D Therefore:

Hill
Hart
Smith
Minnaar
Blenkinsop

Is gwin done for the year?

Results are going depend 100% on weather. I really want to see smith win the overall because i smith and dislike gee. It would be nice to see hill get a top 3

Results will depend on the weather, outcome will be determined by the conditions? Because Gee can't ride fast in the mud?

Champery 2010, refresh your memories.

Minnaar
Brosnan
Peaty (Remember his run last year?...Could've had the win if he didn't slide out on a corner, plus he's amped from BDS win and 6th in Hafjell)

Ask me again on race day, and depending on conditions, this list may change.

Whoever is best in the cold. Even if the snow is above the wc track-its still likely to be a bit of a cold race. Smith on canadian winter advantage?

100% agree. The man is from Wales. Isn't it pretty much wet, cold and miserable there all the time?! Maybe it will come to a battle of Schwalbe vs. Continental... German vs. German, whodathunk?!

I'd like to see whoever claims the overall out of gee and Smith win this race.

that may sound stupid, but I mean, I want to see an outright winner, not one of them crashing out and a 6th place for the other deciding the overall.

Hart and Blenki seem to be in good form, would be nice to see Needles to finish on a high

It would seem the chances of either Smith or Gee winning the race are pretty good, that being said, Go Stevie!

Where is richie rude and is Mitch ropelato racing this one? The specialized video from last week made it sound like he's done for the year?

in a single wide, cooking meth...
1. Agent Smith, summoning all the power from his Canadian Mist soaked moustache, continues his domination in sloppy conditions. In a jager fueled post-victory celebration, he cuts down 70% of the Black Forest with a 2 man saw (by himself - that's how fast he is).

2. Greg "the rainbow warrior" Minnaar. Certainly like to ride off into the African sunset with a W, but the V-10's redundant links and unmanageable dynamic wallow put him on the second step.

3. Blenki. The Anzac from the Southern Hemisphere is fit and riding with a vengeance. But alas, the frigid temps finally take their toll on his naked paws and cause him to actually use his brakes.

4. Needles. Using his stolen DW link technology, he upstages fellow technology thief Danny Hart, who is too busy pissing off Americans who can't understand his thick, non-American accent.

5. David Hasselhoff. Donning a leather skin suit and astride a blacked out Nicolai with a red scanner eye on the head tube, he sneakes ahead of fellow Bavarian Fishbache (who is actually less German, somehow) and takes the last podium spot. In lieu of flowers and champagne, many hamburgers are sloppily consumed on the floor afterwards.

Nahh, he will go outside the tape to perform "I've been looking for freedom" and will be disqualified by the UCI.
Still, he will perform the limbo dance with Smith after his win.

He was the original Nick Fury so it's obvious the Hof will win

Blenki had his best result in a long time when he donned gloves last weekend, unequivocally proving that gloves are faster, despite the added weight and potential aero drag. I think a gloved Blenki is a serious podium threat now, especially if he color matches.

PS - You should get paid for this stuff, it's gold. You should send it to Dirt mag.
