Sorry, another "what frame" thread, I know.

I've been doing a lot of e-riding and have narrowed it down to these two frame for a build over the winter for next season. I've been desiring something more "plow-y" as I feel my major weakness when riding/racing is letting the brakes go through rough stuff. Has anyone had time on both of these frames or just some input on either frame? I plan to build them up similarly and will likely go with a CCDB on the rear for either frame. I'm definitely looking for a race bike, something confidence inspiring in rough stuff but also something I can still have fun on jump trails with (I know neither is really ideal for that but its not like its impossible). I currently have a Norco Aurum which I like a lot but want something I can plow better with when necessary.

Most of my riding is done on the east coast, Snowshoe in particular, so lots of rocks, roots, and mud.

I'm about 5'9" (175cm)so I believe I would need a M regardless of the frame I choose? Any input on sizing would be appreciated as well.

After riding a carbon Wilson and a V10C ( I know not a v10 but still VPP) at whistler this summer for about 4 days, I have to say that I am in love with the Wilson. Control-wise I found it much easier to lean over and corner with compared to the v10, I was actually putting in the effort to be a bit more nimble and pick better lines with the wilson just because it was so enabling. I also thought it jumped a lot better than the v10, but I think that is mainly because the bike build setup fit me a lot more. I will definitely consider getting one if I sell my Jedi at the end of the season. As far as plowing goes, the v10 was literally just point n shoot.... my $.02.

Been in the m9 for awhile.The m9 has a progressive to more linear shock settings.Linear being more plowable.
I also recenlty put on a 1.5 deg angle reducer cup and the db air.
I wish I had done both of these when I got it.It just invites you to manhandle it and launch it into adverse terrain.
I underestimated the value of being able to dial in the shick pressure as opposed to a coil.
I think if you admire Kovariks riding style, this would be the one to get.Its made for that, but can be set up to be nimble also

No experience on the Wilson but I'm on an M9 with adjustments in plow-mode.

-I suck
-I don't have skill
-I don't jump well

That being said, I found the M9 would clobber over everything for me personally, but it all depends on the setup. I've seen guys setup their M9's short, tight and low...and I'm sure that makes them nimble as all hell. In my case with my setup, I can't corner as well but I can hang on tight and hold a line regardless of what it is.

I'm 5'10.5" and on a medium. I could have gone either way I suppose but I feel good on the medium.

Edit:

I have my stem at 55mm with a 31" wide bar.

Just get a legend with a db air if you are a plowy hack and forget about that misaligned vpp monstrocity ;)

Hmmm, have him PM me =) Thanks for the responses guys, although it didnt really help cause both bikes seem killer hahaha. Guess it will boil down to what type of deal I can get on one!
