So i'm running a brand new maxxis minion (single ply) and a mavic 819 tubeless (or trying to) but the thing won't hold air. I got the tire to seat on the rim, so the sidewall is glued to the rim basically but for some reason it is still slowly leaking air. suggestions? i think there's a pretty ample amt of stans in there....

Hey dude, good to know you're still riding bikes!

When you say it is not holding air, how fast does it deflate? Like in a few seconds or a few days? When you pump it up do you see stans coming out anywhere?

In any case, the best suggestion I have is when you get some air in it, kind of move the wheel around so the stans coats the whole inside of the tire. Do this numerous times- pump up to a good pressure, swirl around, repeat. At least that has worked for me on UST and non-UST tires.

ah mr rogers! yes still riding bikes, in colorado now! the valve is definitely tight, it seems to becoming from the tire itself (holes in the rubber maybe?) it seems to be seated well cause i dont see stans leaking from the side wall. There's probably two servings of stans in there and about 40psi right now, hopefully it holds for more than it's normal 15-20min

Sadly I think he may have died in that time for lack of food and water. leaky tubless be serious bidness.
Maybe he upgraded his garage to a bong shed previously, so he might have had enough Cheetos and Dr. Pepper to survive a nuclear winter.

The best way to seat tubeless is to put sealant in, and ride. Riding sloshes it around and finalizes the sealing process.

Maybe acair422 rode to seal his tires, went all Forest Gump and is now on his 3rd continental crossing.

More than likely he is dead from starvation or diabetes from a diet of Dr Pepper and Cheetos.
