Anyone else find it funny that at every venue across the world you always hear American music, if you told me I'd go to a bike race in Austria and hear Bruce Springsteen I'd say you were drunk.

That was pretty legendary stuff right there. Both Gee and Smith on good runs, no crashes or obvious mistakes and Steve smashing the time hands down. Perfect season ender.

I can't believe he pulled it off... to win the last three races of the year; and the overall?! wow. He really turned it into an exciting season. when Gee won the first two, I thought, oh man this is going to be a boring season, but nope! Stevie totally turned it around. I was so pumped I just re-watched his Seasons segment again! He must have had soooo much pressure on him in the start hut. his mental strength must be off the hook.

Or you can say Gee threw it away last weekend hitting that three. Not to take away anything from Steve and his amazing riding.

Cool to see Bryceland finally pull it together hopefully he can build on that for next year.

THAT WAS AWESOME! Stoked for Stevie, and the whole top 5. Can't wait for next year... the field is getting deep.

As much as I was rooting for Stevie, I can't help but feel for Gee. It seemed like this was his season to shine after some bad luck, but it wasnt meant to be. And as much as I love the story of Stevie's hard work and dedication since he was young with his mom shuttling him, I'm sure a similiar story exists for Gee and all of his hard work over the years.
Finally, I don't know about the rest of you, but I think it would be incredibly hard to remain perfectly gracious after any defeat after working so hard. It appears that he's congratulatory towards others, but doesn't have quite the poker face that others do when it comes to being beat.
Incredibly psyched for Stevie and Loic, but just feel a bit bad for Gee.

1.awesome to see smith win and win the overall.
2. Awesome to see neko and Richie rude on the front result page.
3.awesome to see so many USA's on the front page.would be even more if ropelato and gwin raced(maybe).
4. Last and certainly not least it was sweet to see Gee lose. I hate his roid veins and his face. The other athertons are cool, gee not so much. Muscle milk.

Edit: lol hard work to the above post. Juiced juiced juiced. He stinks

Highlight for me was Jill getting 4th. I really hope that this is something she can build on.

Re: steroids
You really think so? I'd like to give people who have dedicated their lives to the sport the benefit of the doubt until I have a reason better than "roid veins" accusations from Internet forums. Spreading that kind of sh!t about people is pretty low.

Last night was amazing to have the WC title determined by the last run of the year, it couldn't have worked out any better.

One thing I can't work out though is the negativity directed at Gee, what's up with that? Yes he does look very serious at times but he's probably just a very intense and focused person, some people show it more than others. He'd have to be to win what he has in his career so far. I just don't get it.

Don't hate Gee, I simply don't like him as much as everyone else in the top 20! Steve Smith is just a very likable guy. Gee seems low on personality, both he and Aaron Gwin have to give possibly the most boring interviews in the world. His riding, for whatever reason doesn't leave a very lasting impression. He's very fast but not exciting to watch for some reason, also Gwin-like.

Anyone else think we've seen the peak of Sam Hill's comeback? The tracks next season won't play to his advantage and the young guys keep getting faster.

Barring a few crashes and an injury, he's actually had a pretty good season. Podium'ed and good on points until last race. I'd say he's still all there, and capable of a podium position any race he's at. I wouldn't count out yet.

Anyone done the total time sums? Too lazy myself but it was always interesting comparing the total times of the races/quali and seeing how it measured up.

Another that doesn't understand the Gee hate, always enjoyed his riding style and thought he comes across well in vids just seems like he's got a very dry sense of humour to me.

Imagine, being pissed you just lost the overall, how dare he eh. Of course you're going to have a face like an arse.

Hill is still a monster. He was finally healing up this season and getting closer and closer to the top rung. If Peaty is 39 and a notch off the podium, I'm sure Hill has plenty more to spare.

The coverage of this round was fantastic and that cable cam helped add a lot of distance and time to the commentary. You could literally SEE the riders building speed or losing it.

The only thing that sucked about that round was almost all of the big dogs not being present:

Gwin
Minnar
Bulldog
Hill
Hart

If that many of the top dogs in moto were out, you might not even turn on the show. But the World Cup finale was still badass!

I went looking for a profile of Stevie's bike. Didn't find one for this year, but found the one from last year after his win in Hafjell.

Can someone explain to me the dual-valve tube in a tubeless system? Would it work for trail riding? or will it just slow the rate of loss so you can make it down the hill of that one run?

None of those guys were a challenge for the overall, the two that mattered were there and neither crashed so pretty cool way for the race to go down. Remi, WC winner this year, Sik Mik and Bruni raced so in my book that's plenty of top dogs.

True for the overall, but I think the podium would have definitely looked different. I'm fairly sure Bryceland would not have been on it, and even Gee may not have been there.

People get hurt, its WC DH racing. If nico was still racing, if rennie hadn't gotten fat and slow, if gracia hadn't injured himself and was still good...etc etc.

Too many what ifs. What counts is who shows up race day, and who places where on race day.
