Anyone know when this fork will be available to mortals? I saw it in retail ish packaging looking like it will be an option to buy soon but I don't know when...basically a world cup with DLC and a charger damper....I'm floored by my pike and a boxxer that feels like that would be awesome

I spoke with HB recently and he said the new boxxer is much improved as well....apparently they have much tighter tolerances regarding how the bushings line up, have better bushings, a massively improved air side, and the charger damper....I NEED ONE....what's the deal????

Towing the party line.
If you take a look at this past season's race photos... there's been a special adjuster/topcaps on boxxers all season.

Last I heard it was SUPPOSED to be a '14 product, but who knows.

talked to someone who was at interbike, and he said there was no boxxer with a charger damper in it.. he 'speculated' that itll be a 2015 product, or atleast be a few more months before they say anything else.

again, all speculation

I would be stoked if it was slated for '14 but the ones listed seem to be be same fork as last years World Cup....bummed. I want one NOW. Haha
Do you still want it if it is 650B only and has a 15 mm axle? ;)

So, are you saying you want something better than your AVY Boxxer?

I'm probably sending mine in this winter, so speak now if I should wait... ;)
Well. I would try the charger damper.

If it's as good in the boxxer as it is on the pike I would possibly run it.

The real appeal lies in the re worked air side. They felt incredible, and prior to feeling these, I have abhorred air spring forks. Also the fact that the castings are machined to tighter tolerances appeals.

I might just jump on the fox 40 air and get the avalanche damper for it while I kill some time waiting for this miracle fork. Looks like its gonna be a while.

Yes, wait.

Just sold my AVY Boxxer after two years of use. Yes, it is a nice upgrade when compared to the R2C2 damper, but its not all it is hyped up to be (which I was previously guilty for). My new Dorado is a huge upgrade in terms of damping and sensitivity.

I wouldn't say my charger damper is quite up to the snuff of Avalanche. It's good, but not quite that good. Could just be the air-spring curve, but it doesn't seem to plow through super chunky stuff at speed quite as good. You lose a little "plush" with the compression cranked up. Make no mistake, it rides well and handles this situation great, but I think the avalanche gets the edge. Then again, the stuff I'm doing on this fork considering it's weight blows my mind.

You will need the Charger upgrade kit, it has part number: 00.4018.783.000

That includes all the right hand side internals for a charger upgrade on all the 35mm chassis models.
