Thinking about selling my M6 for a mor playfull bike, like my 2007 SX Trail used to be... Damn I miss that thing.

Was thinking about a 2014 Scott Genius LT 720 http://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/products/234036007/bike-genius-lt-720-m/

Main goal is to use it as a playbike to visit bikeparks with. So my question is, how does this thing ride downhill with the new Fox rear shock? Can it be compared to the Sx Trail?

Any experiences?

If you liked the SX trail, then why not go for the Enduro Evo with the Ohlins shock?

Simple, already spend a couple of thousand on a new road bike this year so I'm on a budget for now. Can get the Scott at 42% off, what is a nice discount I won't get on other brands...

why don't you try to get one of the scott voltage fr models if you want to hit the bikeparks? I thought the genius lt was aimed at the am/enduro crowd, but maybe i'm thinking in stereotypes.

i just bought one (the one with the equalizer shock).

having had a gambler (setup at 230mm), a voltage fr (setup at 180mm) over the last couple of years.... i´d have to say the first thing that comes to my mind when i think of my genius lt is "nimble".

you have to work the twinloc to get the most out of it. if you do.... its 98% good enough to actually replace a downhill rig and a hardtail. i have mine setup with a 80mm stem (up from 60mm stock), riding a size small (am right between sizes and chose a small +20mm longer stem, am thinking a 70mm stem would be golden).

lock the rear, and wind down the fork to 140mm... and you get race hardtail feeling (for a downhiller)... that can cruise for miles in asphalt at 20mph....
110mm rear and 140mm front... and you have a fairly capable climber; that can keep up with most 140mm under-30lbs climbers.
open up the suspension and you get 95% of a downhill bike... my equalizer shock isnt as plush as coil (altlhough i havent set it up perfectly yet), but its damn good nonetheless.
