Who cares where the races are, there just needs to be more of them. What happened to May and July? We just want more racing that is covered live :(

High speed whoops section!!! Fvck yeah!! I've been trying to hype that stuff for years! Let's hope it's as cool as I think it is.

Not sure why they didn't get Mik to do the helmet-cam (no offence to Tracey).

The track was pretty revolutionary in its day, but not sure if it's really up to World Cup standards these days. 'Tropical Pietermaritzburg' is the name floating around...

looks good! should be good once a few hundred riders tear it up a little. my only concern with it is that it will be tough to broadcast. the entire thing is in thick woods. lets hope red bull can make it look good

this is the first time i have noticed the WC schedule for 2014 since it's winter and im now bored. It's awesome that windam is back and the US has a venue but holy hell we can do better than that...Year after year you can feel the disappointment in the track on sven's slideshows...

how awesome would timberline be in OR if the enviro nazis would get their head out of their asses.

Colorado? Yo you out there?

Bring back the big bear rock jump?

oh wait, we should resurrect the old Wisconsin norba dh course...scratch that.

world cups cost the venues hundreds of thousands of dollars. its easy for us to say that "better" places should host the race, but we should be lucky that we have at least one resort willing to take on a race of this size. other countries have the luxury of their government support the races and helping with the bill. we do not.

also Windham may not be the steepest, longest, roughest track out there but I think the racers like it well enough. I cant remember who but I remember a few years back one of the top riders saying it was their favorite race on the world cup

They've damn near rebuilt the 96 worlds track there they have. Replaced the wooden berms with dirt but kept a lot of the same or at least the same in spirit. That's pretty awesome in my books, love that track with a passion!

Awe why would they do that? Getting up on Sunday and having a lazy day while watching the race was awesome. Aint nobody got time for that on Saturdays.

Is it safe to say Mick should win this Cairns race if he has any shot at winning any of the WC stops this year? Barring a DNF or crash?

While I have to assume he will likely have a home field advantage, similar to say Minnaar at PMB, I wouldn't count out the usual podium suspects like Chainsaw, GeeT, Loic, BC Van, Hill, Broz, and maybe Minnaar or Gwin if they got their sh!t together physically and mentally. But the way Sik Mik was riding last season, I think he's now a threat (again) to win basically anywhere. In fact, I'm going to go out on an eucalyptus limb and say he will finally get on the top step this season.

Btw, I'm guessing Grubby won't be in attendance with Yeti dropping their WC DH support? A shame if thats the case, as I'd be curious to see how would fare on this course (hell, even on his 66).

EDIT - someone should find an old XXL Yeti DH9 (actually not sure about model, but any old Yeti will do) and have Rennie smash down the track just for funs.

In his recent interview on Vital he said he'd be racing at Cairns and on a DH bike.
