Poll: Who's gone under the knee knife in 2013?

Going under the scope for "Meniscus, debrasion, cyst removal & cartlidge" tomorrow at 11am. Doc mentioned microfracture to help cartlidge damage if he finds a severe issue. 6 weeks light duty, then 6 weeks build back up. If microfracture, start off with 6 weeks no weight bearing.

How's the noodle nub treatin' ya and whatcha doing to stay busy?

SCARY

Not long enough
I had mine Oct 16th.acl/meniscus.Ihad more damage to the meniscus than thought, so when woke up I was told 3 weeks no weight,5 locked out,7 in a brace.
I make stuff for a living and it just sucked trying to get stuff done in crutches.
I've had a bazillion surgeries, but this one just sucked mostly because it was planned and most of the other ones where emergency surgeries and it's easier to accept.
Other than that, no real pain except the first night.Feels fine now.You may wanna get an ice machine to keep the swelling down. Those things are awesome

Getting mine in early Jan. Had the accident in Feb. Something to do with torn meniscus flap removal.

I've had meniscus repair/removal in both knees two years ago and walked out of both surgeries. On my right knee, I rode my commuter bike the next day, and needed only one vicoden post surgery. It's really not a big deal until you get into acl/mcl repair.

Had an arthroscopy on Nov. 11th this year cause I had a baker cyst on my right knee. They found an older partial rupture of the PCL an some minor damage to the meniscus.

Back on the bike since 3 weeks now. Although mobility is already as good as before, there's still no power on the pedals. But so happy to go out with the bike and have some fun.

Not this year but I've had three of 'em.

It's annoying but nothing like that shooting pain that comes out of nowhere when it's irritated and NEEDS surgery.

Percoset sucks. Stops up yer pooper.
Holy cow!!! You are NOT kidding. Don't remember that from ACL in '96, but this time around it was unmercifully painful. Nausea from the plumbing back up and severe stomach cramps. Could barely eat anything for days and after day 3 finally popped out some rabbit pellets in agony.

Later that night the stool softener and fiber pills popped a hole in the fun bag and I emptied half a tank of sewage. Then, I clogged up again. I only took a few percocet that first night ???

That's a fact. Opiate pain killers suck. I found that "green" pain killers are the only legitimate option.
Tell me more?

Oh, and I did have to have the microfracture procedure, but apparently minimal, so that I can bear weight (great news)!

Only negative is the doc is off until January 4th. My wife spoke with him afterwards so I have no clear and concise pic of all that he did. I remember someone telling me the words "inflammation, debridement, cyst removal, trimming". That's about it.

Oh, and wife took this pony for a ride for the first time last night! Yeah baby!!! :thumb:
