Not saying if Vitor's hand wasn't messed up things would be different. I would say he would have had a better chance, but hitting JBJ in the first place is hard to do. He's no Silva, but he's close as far as a moving target with counter power is concerned.

I liked his fight against Diaz, i wish he'd be able to use a little more jiu jitsu but Diaz has really good stand up defense. Hopefully Condit can push GSP to fight a bit more, especially since it's been so long since his last fight. Sure it has the potential for a ground hugging snoozefest though

It's funny how one of the judges prefers damage over control in Lawler's case but not in GSP vs Condit.

Hendos return tonight against machida .I don't know how he will look after coming back from his latest injury but I'm hoping for the best hendo victory . I don't care about the chick fight or any of the other fights .

Lawler beat the crap out of koscheck, it was a little pre-mature of a stop but I don't think the result wouldn't have been different had the ref waited. Fabers, sneaky spidermonkey attack was awesome! Hendo vs machida was a snore, I was let down by that one. The chick fight was much better to watch. Also Rousey is kinda hot, in a I wanna rip your junk off kinda way.

On a side note, I wonder how cyborg is gonna do off the juice and if she is gonna be able to shrink down to 135.

Rousey also seems like a cool chick. Seen some interviews with her and she's one of the few female fighters that doesn't seem like her parents were cousins.

Hendo vs Machida went as expected.

Well. Silva or Weidman? I'm going with Silva. I've been a nuthugger of his since he was back in PRIDE around 21 years old.
Rousey or Tate? I wish Tate would win, but Rousey is way good. SHe just needs her trash talking mouth shut. Tate could only win by doing a complete game of stick and move. She'd have to back-pedal all night long.
What do you guys think?

here's my 2 cents , I want Weidman to win so people can stop saying he got lucky but I don't think its going to happen . with the chicks fight Rhonda is going to win .

Weidman is going to have a pretty full plate tomorrow. He's going to have the best striker in MMA coming back to take his title, and he'll be motivated to take it back. I think Silva is going to use it as an example of what he's still capable of.
Weidman is way good, but he'll be at a disadvantage from the start since every fight starts on the feet. I think it's going to be over by round 1.
If Weidman wins, then it wouldn't be a bad thing. He could finally be credited with a win that wasn't luck. If Silva wins, then he should either fight Chris one more time, or just vacate the belt and go up to 205.

I'm pretty sure Rousey won't lose. It sure would be awesome though. I'm tired of that mouth.

Well I'm sure that didn't go as Silva planned. Getting pummeled in the first round and almost knocked out again, then snapping your leg as Weidman checks your kick. Silva is done for.

Yeah, that was a bummer. Sucks for Silva. That's a freak accident fo sho. He should retire. He doesn't need the money and he's got nothing left to prove. All of the haters are people that have only watched MMA for the last three years.
Bummer for Weidman to win that way too. First win was considered luck because Silva was being a moron. Second win against the GOAT was a freak accident. That's gotta be a weird won for Weidman since people will remember him beating Andy by luck both times.
Hopefully this next olympian girl can beat Ronda. Ronda is a trip. She isn't someone you'd want to represent women's MMA as a whole. No sportsmanship, no class.
On another note, Weidman vs Cheator Belfort should be a good fight. I can't see Belfort winning if he's not fighting in Brazil and taking tons of TRT. Whoever wins that one is going to have a hard time when Jacare or Machida make it up to the top. I hate saying it, but with Anderson and GSP being gone, both of those divisions just became a helluva lot more interesting.

It's MMA. Things can change in an instant. Have you not seen Silva's fights from the past? He always gets his butt kicked by a good fighter in the first round. 2nd round is when he turns it on. Plus, has he ever looked good off his back, other than when he subbed Chael after 23 minutes of laying there?

Saying the leg check win/break wasn't luck is like saying people go out there and duck their head down, hoping someone is going to break their hand on it and have to give up. Look up how many fighters have won fights by that "technique". Yeah. Hardly any because it's just dumb luck that someone would break their leg by having their kick checked.

Silva's done. He had an amazing run, but he even said he didn't want to go out like Chuck did. I don't think he'll recover from that to the level he was. His wins were epic. Weidman even said regardless of outcome, Silva is the greatest. But he's done now.

I have to agree with kazlx , I saw highlights from the fight on sunday and it looked to me as Weidman was domination the fight .I don't think silve would of come back.

There's a difference between getting pounded on and almost getting knocked out. People said it was a fluke that Silva got knocked out the first time. Fact is, Weidman clocked him good enough a second time, not to mention in the first round, when Silva was fresh...so it wasn't a fluke. His eyes rolled and he went out until he hit the mat and came to enough to defend himself. Yes, anything is possible and tides can turn, but Silva came out serious and ready to fight and still got pummeled. That being said, I like the guy. He made the sport fun to watch. Weidman is boring.

Silva probably would have been better off getting knocked out.

Yeah, i can't argue that Andy wasn't getting his arse kicked in that 1st round. Chris was bringing it to him fo sho. You could tell he had confidence that he didn't have in their first encounter.
It's definitely time for changing of the guard. As much as I love Anderson Silva, I was tired of his antics, and tired of no competition for him. It's nice to see a new champ, and a lot of things shifting around in that weight class. Now there are a ton of good fights that can happen for the belt. Suddenly that whole weight class becomes interesting again. Cheator Belfort, Weidman, Machida, Mousasi, Jacare, Munoz, Rockhold, Kennedy, Boetsch. Not all champ material, but definitely a lot more competitive.
Props to Weidman for saying that Andy is the best there will be. he's a class act. Ronda should take a page from his book.
I like how GSP left the division too. Now that class is more interesting too. I might actually get more PPV fights now. The one i got before this was when GSP got his title back from Serra. Now that whole weight class is competitive. Matt Brown, Condit, Rory, Lawlor, Nick Diaz, Hendricks, Lombard, Woodley, Thatch.

I really hope Ronda's next match ends with the other olympian having her hand raised. Were any of the rest of you irritated that Miesha kept grabbing Ronda? that was not smart at all.

Wow. Now Cruz is out and vacated his title. Looks like it's Urijah and Barao in 3 weeks. Come on Urijah. I'd like to see him win it. He's an exciting fighter and everybody seems to like him.

I'd like to see Urijah win. I think the only way he can do it is in a scramble. That dude is the king of mega fast scrambles. Otherwise, Barao is going to pick him apart in the striking department.

He is a good example of a wrestler that has made a a solid transition to MMA. His striking isn't bad, but you are right about his scrambles. Dude is fast and has great ground defense.

Well, anybody think Cormier actually stands a chance against Bones Jones? I think it will be more competitive than when Rampage and Glover fought Jones. I'm actually hoping that DC can beat him. I'm tired of Jones. He can't decide if he wants to be a class act with a ton of coaching, or if he kinda wants to be a heel. Right now he's somewhere in-between and it just doesn't work out for him. He's a good fighter, but i'd like to see DC beat him. I don't know how he'll do against that reach advantage though.

Cowboy vs. Jury should be a good one. Cowboy is never in a boring fight.

Jones is going to either knock him out or choke him out, I doubt it goes past 3. Jones will eventually get beaten, but he is about as well rounded a fighter as you can get. No way is he dumb enough to go up to heavy, so he might just get bored.

I'm waiting to see what happens with the law suit, it seems legit. Especially with the new "uniform" they are pushing.
