Wifey has given me a bit of free range on possibly doing a bike purchase. The little crash last season when I landed on my head and messed up my neck has put some fear of consequence into me (finally). I highly doubt I will be doing any DH riding outside of resorts, and even then I will be renting at this point.

I'd likely be selling my existing bike, wheel sets, extra shock ,etc. that is from my 26" setup. Having the option of building up a DH capable bike is too tempting, hence the switch to 27.5, also because I'm a giant and it just makes sense.

Ride-wise, I love my SB. My only complaints beyond weight ~8# frame is that the seat tube is incredibly slack for an all-mountain bike. Honestly, if I could clone my SB66 on a 27.5, I would do it. But Yeti doesn't think any tall people ride their bikes apparently. And it pisses me off incredibly. That they are the only company that makes a really long trail bike, is what makes tall people ride them. Not sure how they missed that point.

What I'm looking for:
Carbon
27.5"
25.5-26" TT
5-6" travel
Slacker geometry
Low bb

Bikes:
Yeti SB75 - Top out at a large. Sadly, they are off the table, as I love my SB.
Giant Trance - I haven't ridden one in along time, so I would definitely need to hit the local shop.
Trek ?? - I don't even know what the model is here. The only one I have ridden is the DH, which felt great, but the XL was tiny.
Turner Burner
Intense is out.

What else am I missing?

Check out Bike Magazine Youtube channel. They have tons of bike tested in that category under their 2014 Bible of bike test. I personally like the GT Sensor

In hell. Welcome!
Of those already mentioned, I would pick the Turner. You'll get a no BS bike from a no BS company.

There are a few other interesting options out there - Pivot Mach 6 which said to be the best 650b trail bike out there, but its BB is on the high side and with TT 25.3". SC Bronson has many fans, too.

There are two bikes in the works that should be great - Knolly Warden and Canfied Bros. Balance. I expect both of them to have the TT on the longish side.

This whole thread is nonsense, IMO.

Buy and XL SB66C with a trail build, correct slack ST via post/saddle.
Don't ride DH/gnar on it. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Buy a used DH bike that fits because you know you will still ride resorts.
I have yet to find a rental DH bike that fits and I'm smaller than you.
Plus, trusting your hide on a rental is sketch.

I have the SB Al already, and the seat tube issue is legitimate. I have had issues getting a good fit with leg extension since I bought it. I can get extension, but then the seat is way too far back. Or, I can get appropriate leg angle, but it's only at 3/4 extension. I might have made an impulse buy when a C was listed at $1500, but not at current prices.

The DH bike is out at this point. I don't think I'll be doing much in the way of DH at this point.

f* it. I just ran the numbers and if I get a talas cartridge for my fork, it should steepen things up enough for climbing. So... SB66c in the mail. Hat tip to FullTrucker on the deal. Backcountry.com matched the listed price from Friday's chainlove sale. If you guys ever buy anything from there, I recommend you go through the help chat and ask for Brooklynn H. She saved me $355.
