Anyone with some ride time on these bad boys care to share their impressions?

They are in stock at Jenson for 1571. I don't really need a new fork, and the lack of real-life reviews makes me hesitant, but damn, I'm still very tempted.

sorry if this is a dumb question, but i really dont follow marz much.. but did they change the bushing issue (making them replaceable) from the previous forks?

reading that thread here, and hearing about it in other places... just curious. i am also surprised there arent more infos/reviews about it. erryone is/was excited about this fork!!

Man, I got along really well with distant relative 888cr. I'd be really tempted to give one a shot, but the competition is tight in 2014...

It's a new fork model. Wait a year til all the hype goes down and people stop rationalizing the 1500 they spent and start real reviews. I still remember when half of RM was super stoked about their new 2010 boxxers.

All we need is a few more pinkbike reviews. "I rode this fork!!!!!111", and then a followup by RC "It bobbed a lot on the climbs, and it doesn't fit 29" wheels, so 2/10 would not recommend to a dentist".

On paper, this should be a decent fork, can't wait to hear about it in practice.

Wise words. My specific concerns about the fork are 1)the stock spring 2)the durability. I'm 175lbs when geared up so it sounds like I could make the 5.5 spring work, but it would be a pain to spend that much money and be stuck with a too-soft spring. Also, this new non-open bath system may not have the ridiculous service time intervals the old forks had. We shall see.

I'm sure the spring will be too soft. The durability should still be good though, the semi open bath allows the oil to flow back into the leg for the super fun sloshy times that we all love, then cycle back through the damper. The dirt it collects should firm up the damper over time, so the longer you ride, the more atherton-like your fork gets.

The stock spring is stupidly soft, if you weigh more than Snow White or her 7 friends I wouldn't even think about pointing it down anything fast or steep!

I weigh 155lbs ready to ride and need the hard spring, even with preload and compression settings maxxed out the standard spring is unrideable and I'd consider myself bang in the middle of average speed wise.
 
The big reason I didnt buy the 380 was the fact that the stock spring is way soft for the average rider. To buy the fork AND the appropriate rate spring basically cancels out any cost savings to be had. All the top forks are basically doing a killer job with stiction and small bump compliance. Prob just a matter of price and durability.
