That's what I purchased to do it. It literally just plugged into where the trunk mounted CD changer would have been connected. There isn't much to it. I dropped the ipod connector down behind the temperature controls and into the ashtray, so nothing is visible at all on the exterior and the ipod fits nicely in the ashtray behind the little door.

Yeah, same same. 50000km to a set of discs, unreliable German electronics, flat uncomfortable seats, parking sensors that go off in the rain, auto box that seems to completely disengage when coasting and thump when it re engages as if it were low on ATF(but isn't), indicator stalk that can't be flicked with your hand on the wheel in the normal position, stupid key location and key is rotated 90deg just to piss you off, because Siemens.

Nice torquey engine though and plastic front guards are good for soccer moms, that's about all the positives I can think of.

Yeah pretty well, I will own another Euro car because they can be nice and I can fix them fairy cheaply but compared to a decent Japanese designed car they they chew out more rubber bits and have more electrical faults by far, sure Japan have produced some crap but they usually learn from their mistakes when the Euros just make **** more complicated to try and fix the problem.

In the truck world Volvo run all the weird new stuff and when it becomes reliable it finds it's way on to Mack trucks. Old Mercs with very little in the way of electronics(trucks and buses) were awesome but most of the breakdowns now on Euro trucks and buses are electrical problems.

Someones gotta push the boundaries, my cars got every option short of massaging seats and internet and all of it works. I like my car, and frankly thats all I give a crap about. What you think of a t-reg is just that, what you think of it.

True true, the little ticket in my wallet does say mechanic on it but yeah I went the truck way because they are happier to spend money if they have decent work done whereas car owners assume you are a know nothing thief and try to screw you over accordingly.

For me unreliable vehicles are great as they make jobs but I am thinking I may have to get a second trade as most of the work is now for the auto elecs or nerds with computers.

Another cool thing in Oz at the moment is that the 17yos have moved from buyin Subaru to Euro cars and they ditch them as soon as there is a mechanical problem as they can't afford to fix them, sadly they don't seem to buy 5 series wagons, I'd love one of them.
