Cool bike brah. What are the major differences from the previous gen?

The coolest thing that I find is that you have a mill and lathe in your basement!

not my workshop, its a friend of mine who is a machinist. lots of stuff, CNCs, lathe, mill, ect.

it now has a 9.5 by 3 shock which upped the travel, 63HA, 12.5 longer TT (now sized "correct")
minor frame aesthetics, new graphics, and the shock mounts to the TT

pretty much, the best bike-got better

LOVE the workshop shots Demo9!!! Pretty fitting actually!

Along with the additional travel, the new linear rate makes the bike feel MUCH deeper than the previous gens. We really wanted it to feel reminiscent of the old Formula 1, but with the added nimbleness of a Jedi.

I have a few weeks on the production frame now and I'm really excited about the new bike. We hope you guys are too!

Any ride impressions are very wellcome. Though it came pretty heavy given the comps. Is the fork air sprung or coil?

wont get any ride info any time soon since there is 2 feet of snow outside, but the quality is superb. as for the weight, i was kinda surprised but i know it is not the frame, as i have seen under 35lb jedis years ago, before weight was trendy-i know that i could loose alot in the rims, maybe other small stuff but i didnt really consider it much when i got it-picked all my favorite stuff, and assembled it

fork is an open bath air fork

I was just surprised since your other bikes were lighter but who cares all we can speculate are e-numbers before the snow melts (actually it melted here but thanks to some supreme power thawing always means me catching cold)

btw. Have you tried the i9 rims?

i have i9 rims on my xc bike, but i havent seen them hold up well for DH, i run flowEX rims now, but used this older set of 823s i had. (bought but basically never used)

demo - wow, I'm kind of shocked you moved away from the gbox Zerode. What was you decision process to do so? I had the chance to ride Jason's (Sicklines) last year the weekend of the Spring Classic at MCBP and thought it was pretty amazing. He DID have it set up tubeless on DeeMax Ultimates with Hans Dampfs, so this among other things could have contributed to my impressions during some limited saddle time on the trail.

My contract with the race team expired at the end of last year and a great opportunity arose with Canfield-and having some of my most successful seasons on the jedi, i thought it was a no brainier-especially with these components coming out and the balance coming soon. A complete bike lineup was probably the biggest part of my decision.

The zerode was (and still is) a great bike, i would not recommend against it-although i did fall in love with this jedi :thumb:

FYI

jedi's aren't supposed to fall in love with you.
...I think it's too early to tell at this point; let's see what kind of script Disney has cooking for the next three installments of the Star Wars trilogy first... haha

demo - OK, that makes sense! Actually, it's been so long, I nearly forgot you used to own a Jedi. So CB's new geo sizing puts their Medium slightly bigger than what was previously available?

Great parts on the bike! And I dont care about weight neither.

Cuz it is about gravity!
