Not really new but yeah and I refuse to say/call it 650b (I can't believe I even typed the word)

Im surprised that a few riders that we have seen on the off season are not running the Black fork stanchions on there bikes, obviously no benefit over the normal ones since they stopped using DLC coating. They do look pretty f-ing cool thou and if anything needs a revamp its the boxxer.

Boxxer needs a revamp? Why? They just need to release the charger damper to catch up with aftermarket options. The chassis is fine.

Same bike, bigger wheels, meh...

Thats what I meant, RS bringing out the damper charger and we have all seen it with its BLACK stanchions.

Going off what the Pike is like the boxxer is going to be pretty amazing but why would the guys who have been riding the fork or faking it with normal boxxers and black stanchion be allowed to be using normal coloured stanchions when they are in the spotlight so much and supposedly testing out what us Joe Public want to get there hands on.

I don't want a boxxer with charger and normal stanchions, I want what the top pro's are riding or as close as you can get.

They do need a decal revamp thou.

Why do you want to ride the same color stanchions as the top pros? Like you said, you will not get the DLC, so why does it matter if the stanchions are black or brown or whatever?
I don't understand the obsession to Kashima either, even if that possibly makes a tiny bit of difference. It's the chassis and damper that are the important bits, not the stanchion color or the ****ing decals.

Edit: Oh, the seals are important too.

Cause I've been riding boxxers since 98 with the same colour stanchions and if the pro's get to mix it up I want that choice too haha and as for the decals I understand it may only be decals but how can you not feel duped when walking into a shop to purchase a pair of forks that are advertised as a 2014 model and nothing has changed on the inside and nothing changed on the outside RS may as well be selling 2012 boxxers instead of pulling the wool over peoples eyes.

There are generally subtle differences, but come on dude, you're loosing all credibility moaning about decals... And it's not been a big secret that the best option for a while has been to buy an RC and dump the cartridge.

From scrolling the Internet today I've seen Devinci, lapierre, mondraker, transition, specialized all going on about 650B. It seems that is all we are going to get for a while, really not super interested in reading about it. When I buy a new trail bike, it'll probably be 650B, but mainly just so I have a small chance at keeping a half decent resale value in the future when the prices of 26" bikes slide off a cliff. I was kind of hoping it wouldn't happen to DH seeing as I can't ever see myself shuttling tracks like Pietermaritzburg or Canberra for fun. I guess I don't taking bikes seriously enough anymore.

I think selling by model years is really stupid, selling by model generations is much better. Yes, the Boxxer you buy today is probably exactly similar than the Boxxer was in 2012, what's the problem with that? You were just expecting something better because the model year is different. If they were both sold as a Mk. 10 (or whatever the current version is) you probably would not have any issues with it being the same as two years ago?
In my opinion companies like Santa Cruz are doing it right by not making superficial changes every year and calling it a new product.

I thought they were actually trying to put the bushings in straight now and not dog earing them, I'm sure I read something similar but slightly less opinionated somewhere. RS would have to perform some sort of miracle to get any money from me again.

The boxderp needs good seals and qc before it gets the charger dumper. Then it might be a reasonable third or fourth behind the fit, devo, and r2d2.

More to the point, this 650b rush makes me giggle.
