My 8yo started walking the mile to/from school this week, sparing me the mind numbing chore of school drop off. No complaints despite single digit temps every day this week. Tough little ****.

So I came into work today, and the grasp at keeping me here has already begun, I was sat down before clocking in, and notified I have been given a substantial raise effective the beginning of the last pay period.

Man what a confidence boost this is, not going to let it go to my head though, I still am looking to move out of automotive and into some type of law enforcement. It is nice to know that I have a nice boost in pay before shift happens.

As I look out our front window, it's snowing again. Big, fat, fluffy flakes. I swept about 1 1/2" off the drive before wife left, and you wouldn't be able to tell, as it's all covered already. Too bad I'm not in to skiing/boarding, and I don't have a fat bike, so I'm going to sally-out and feed my dogs.....

It's kinda nice today weatherwise. But I am supposed to make a trip to Redmond on Saturday and Bend is supposed to get some snow/ice. Hope for less suck for the trip.

Could be a job offer. Could be telling me that I was so close but didn't get it. Could be telling me that they'll consider me in the future. Could be them telling me that they'll make up their collective mind in upcoming months...

I shall post on teh monkey with results either/any way, at least.

fingers crossed for ya. it almost seems that any of those would be better than - was it Alabama? (though I could be wrong, I've never been there b4)

Oh boy Oh boy Oh boy... Phone call... I am officially a new DO in Gallatin county. Actual offer was just made, psych is Monday morning, background and I start work there.

Holy crap, this is just setting in how much life is about to change. Oh good lord, here comes the wild ride for the next year.







For short, I got the job as a Detention officer!!!

the snow report said 4 inches. The winds must be really been really favorable because it was twice that in many spots. Dumped all morning, maybe another 2 to 3 inches, then went blue skies for a couple of hours. Next big storm a setting up right now. :D

I was offered, and duly accepted the offer from UC/CU Denver this morning. Got the draft contract via email from the chair just now so it doesn't look like this was all a hallucinatory episode.
